Aggelochori (Altian: Αγγελοχώρι) is a settlement located on the island of Altis in the Republic of Altis and Stratis.

Overview[]

Aggelochori is a town that lies to the north of the old capital of Kavala. The town primarily caters to tourists and has hotels, resorts and recreational facilities scattered throughout the town itself and its outlying areas.

Parts of Aggelochori were destroyed in early July 2035, though other areas of the town remain mostly unmarred by conflict.

History[]

On July 9th, 2035[1], a joint CSAT-AAF counterinsurgency operation was launched against the city of Kavala.[2] The city itself, long known to be a pro-FIA stronghold, was swept through by COIN patrols. In the operation, numerous supply caches were destroyed, and sympathisers of the insurgents were swiftly taken into custody.[3]

The operation extended to the surrounding areas; Aggelochori was no exception and COIN patrols similarly made their sweeps through. Several insurgents were killed in the fighting and the northern part of the town was essentially razed to rubble, though some of the resort areas remained partially intact.[2]

For the counterinsurgency operation in July 2035, the AAF temporarily set up a small outpost near the resort area (at grid 034-141).

It was mainly utilised as a casualty collection point for any personnel that were injured during the operation. It was fortified with two guard towers and a series of H-barriers.

Petrol station[]

The Altis-based Fuel company operates a service station on the southern side of town next to an intersection.

Trivia[]

  • The first mission of the main campaign's second episode, Signal Lost, notably takes place exclusively within Aggelochori's northern resort area.[2]
    • This also extends to the official Kavala version of the End Game multiplayer scenario, where the northern resort area serves as the spawn point for REDFOR players.[4][5]
  • Aggelochori is based on the northern parts of the real-world city of Myrina on the island of Lemnos, Greece. However, some places like the Temple of Artemis are located in entirely different locations or do not exist at all when matched to their in-game counterparts.

We lost valuable equipment and munitions - many months of supplies. And - to make matters worse – with Nikos still missing in action, we've lost a key link in our supply network. We're not desperate - not yet, at least - but the situation is only going to get worse from here."
