Overview

« A small overseas territory, Arland officially belongs to the microstate of Everon. Although remote and sparsely populated, this link in the Malden Islands chain is tempered by the presence of a major Soviet airbase — putting it at the forefront of Cold War tensions. Beyond the razor wire fences, close-knit communities can also be found. Arleville and Beauregard. Here, Czech-speaking locals carry on as they have for hundreds of years. Toiling the sea and working the land, attentive to the natural beauty that surrounds them.

Located approximately 31 kilometres to the south-east of the Everonian mainland[1][2], Arland is a small overseas territory that is officially recognised as a territory of the Everon Socialist Republic. Two picturesque villages, Arleville and Beauregard, are home to a community of Czech-speaking farmers and fishermen.[3]

In spite of this, the island is home to a major Soviet military airbase that occupies the north-western side of Arland, complete with hardened aircraft shelters and underground bunkers.[3][4]

The airbase is in our hands and local FIA guerrilla cells are, for now, playing nice. Just don't get complacent. They're no friends of Uncle Sam. We've already had one report of gear and weapons missing - including radios! I know we're spread pretty thin out here, but be sure you secure your shit. But I digress... Colonel Gray has confirmed the news from Everon. The situation there is... messy. The Russians made landfall about the same time we did. As for what's going on in Europe... well. I can't tell you any more than what you're hearing on AAN. Suffice to say, it's SNAFU. But - what I can say - capturing this airbase has given our boys on Everon a reprieve."
