The BESPA is a ballistic-resistant vest used by East German military forces in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany Creator DLC.
Overview[]
The BESPA armour vest system (Beschuss Sicherer Personen Anzug) was introduced as part of the NVA's latest modernisation efforts.[1] BESPA vests can be customised with load bearing rigs/belts/webbing depending on the wearer's role within their squad. Regardless of configuration, all BESPA vests are bullet-resistant and provide limited protection against ballistic threats.
BESPA vests are rated at Level II protection standards and cover the wearer's chest, abdomen, and diaphragm. Although they retain a damage reduction modifier of only 15%, the wearer can still withstand being hit by a single 5.56 mm rifle round or up to three 9 mm pistol bullets at point blank range. However, the vest's armour is not durable enough to allow the wearer to survive being struck by full-power 7.62 mm rounds.
