Armament
The BPz 2A0 comes equipped with two 7.62 mm machine guns, one mounted in a ball turret manned by the gunner and another on a pintle fitted to the turret ring above the commander's hatch.

Both MG3s feed from 120-round belts. They each have access to 3 more belts in reserve for a combined total of 480 rounds (per MG3).

Features
The BPz 2A0 can automatically repair any nearby land-based vehicles and grounded aircraft.

Crew Capacity
BPz 2A0s support a crew consisting of the driver, a gunner and the commander. It is unable to carry any additional passengers.

Camouflage[]

NOTE: The BPz 2A0 has additional camouflage schemes for non-West German/Danish BLUFOR and REDFOR nations. Please note that these nations are not actually featured as playable factions in the DLC.

American[]

NOTE: Not featured as a playable faction.

Danish[]

Soviet[]

NOTE: Not featured as a playable faction.

West German[]

Protection[]

The BPz 2A0 has a base armour value of 600. It is not possible to retrofit the BPz 2A0 with addon armour modules.

Hull[]

The BPz 2A0's hull is able to withstand up to 1,080 points of damage. It takes 80% reduced damage from high-explosive (HE) type munitions. 160% of incoming damage will always be shared with the BPz 2A0's main "health"pool.

Depletion of the hull's integrity has a high chance of resulting in a catastrophic kill if the BPz 2A0 is at critical "health" status.

Engine[]

The engine can only take 270 points of damage. It takes 80% less damage from HE-type munitions. No damage inflicted upon the engine is shared with the BPz 2A0's "health" pool.

Tracks[]

The BPz 2A0's tracks consist of the treads, sprockets and wheels. Each of these components can be damaged individually and will progressively affect its mobility depending on the severity of damage and how many components remain intact:

  • The wheels, idlers and sprockets can each take a maximum of 200 points of damage. They take 200% additional damage from HE-type munitions.
  • Both treads can withstand up to 650 points of damage. They take 50% less damage from HE-type munitions.

In all cases, no damage to any of these components is shared with the BPz 2A0's main "health" pool.

Ball turret[]

The ball turret's elevation and traverse mechanisms are considered to be separate components. Both components can survive up to 180 points of damage before they fail. They take 40% less damage from HE-type munitions. No damage to either mechanism will be shared with the BPz 2A0's "health" pool.

Components[]

NOTE: Cosmetic-only component modules with no gameplay effects are deliberately excluded from this section.

  • Add Camo Net - Hull: Covers parts of the hull with camouflage nets (the right side of the hull, half of the roof and the rear are not covered). These nets do not mask the BPz 2A0's thermal signature.
  • Add Foliage - Hull: Attaches shrubbery and tree branches on all sides of the hull with the exception of the roof and crane.

Armament[]

The gunner and commander each have access to an MG3 7.62 mm medium machine gun. The gunner controls the forward-facing ball turret MG3 while the commander is able to man the turret roof MG3 that is fitted onto a turret ring. In the case of the latter, they can only make use of their MG3 while they are turned out (it cannot be fired remotely from within).

For optics, only the gunner has the ability to look through a periscope view. However, it is not magnified and lacks the ability to toggle enhanced vision modes:

MG3[]

7.62 mm medium machine guns. One is mounted above the commander's hatch on a turret ring while the second is fitted to a forward-facing ball turret.

Both MG3s can attain a fire rate of up to 1,200 rounds per minute. Accuracy-wise, they have a dispersion of 0.0009599 rad. It takes at least 8 seconds to reload either MG3 with a fresh belt or to fully rearm from a supply truck.

Rotation angles differ depending on where the MG3 is mounted. The ball turret's MG3 is restricted to an elevation, depression, and horizontal limit of 30 degrees in all directions. The turret ring MG3 on the other hand, allows the MG3 to be swivelled freely in any direction horizontally. Its vertical angles are limited to an elevation of 60 degrees and a depression of just 20 degrees.

Manual zeroing capability also varies depending on the position of the MG3. The ball turret's MG3 cannot have its zeroing adjusted. However, the turret ring MG3 does allow its zeroing to be adjusted manually. This starts from a minimum of 100 m up to maximum of 1200 m. Adjustments are made with increments/decrements of 100 m.

FFV[]

Only the commander has the ability to utilise FFV when they are turned out.

Trivia[]

  • Following the release of Update 1.3, it is now possible to modify the BPz 2A0's appearance with camouflage nets and foliage through the Virtual Garage.[1]
  • Additional camouflage schemes, specifically the (then-new) U.S. and Soviet textures, were later added in Update 1.5.[2]
  • Both the BPz 2A0's driver and commander positions have "interiors" but they are not fully detailed ones. The developers of Global Mobilization have stated that there are no plans to include a fully detailed interior.[3]

Notes[]

  1. It is technically possible to slingload the BPz 2A0 as its model has the necessary memory points for slings to be attached. However, this is only possible if the BPz 2A0's weight has been deliberately reduced to an acceptable threshold by using the setMass scripting command.

  3. Mondkalb 2020, Regarding the tank interiors: It's a lot of work because of the massive amounts of intricate details required. This is time and effort that easily comparable with making an additional new vehicle. For GM we'd rather bring you new vehicles (Like the helicopters or the Luchs) than spending time on tank interiors., Discord [Social Media], viewed 7 November 2023, <https://discord.com/channels/245546995874267147/757954857226338447/758009638125043863>.
