NOTE: This article is about the Basic Helmet in ArmA 3's semi-official Western Sahara Creator DLC. For its main counterpart added in the Laws of War DLC, see Basic Helmet.

Information on this article is only relevant up to patch version 1.1.6

The Basic Helmet is a ballistic-resistant helmet worn by UNA peacekeepers in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Western Sahara Creator DLC.

Overview[]

A ballistic-resistant combat helmet made out of aramid fibres, the Basic Helmet is worn by some UNA peacekeepers deployed to Argana. It has a weight of 30 "mass" units.[CfgWp 1]

It is rated at Level II protection standards. The Basic Helmet will allow the wearer to survive being struck by a 9 mm bullet at point blank range or a single hit from a 5.56 mm bullet at non-point blank ranges. However, full power 7.62 mm bullets remain lethal regardless of distance.

Variants[]

Goggles[]

This variant simply has a pair of goggles strapped onto the helmet. Some specialist mercenaries also wear this variant specifically.

Unlike barebones Basic Helmet, this version is available in three alternate schemes and is not restricted to just the UNA's light blue colour scheme. However, aside from having more colour options, there are no differences in terms of weight or protection (it still has a weight of 30 "mass"[CfgWp 2] and is rated at Level II protection standards).

(*) These schemes are not available to baseline Basic Helmets with no Dust Goggles strapped onto them.

Trivia[]

  • Prior to Update 1.1, the Basic Helmet was exclusively worn by UNA peacekeepers. Post-patch release, the Goggles variant is now also worn by specialist ION mercenaries.[1]
