Belts are vests worn by West German and East German armoured vehicle crewmen in ArmA 3. They were added with the release of the Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany Creator DLC.
Overview[]
A simple utility belt strapped around the user's waist, Belts are meant to form one component of "Gear" load bearing rigs used by both West German (BW) and East German (NVA) soldiers.
They do not impose a stamina cost since they both have a weight of zero "mass" units.[CfgWp 1][CfgWp 2] However, because both Belts only provide 1 "mass" unit's worth of storage space, they essentially cannot be used to carry anything since the majority of items are simply too heavy.[CfgWp 3][CfgWp 4]
The two Belts are functionally identical to one another aside from their appearance. West German military Belts use a simple olive drab-coloured strap and unmarked grey buckle. On the other hand, East German military belts utilise a whitish-grey strap with a grey buckle that has the national emblem of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) engraved into it.
Belts do not offer any protection from either small arms fire or explosives.

- Prior to Update 1.2, East German Belts strangely had the ability to store up to 160 "mass" worth of items and ammunition. The patch fixed this by reducing its storage capacity to only 1 "mass".[1]
