Bomos is a remote location on the island of Altis in the Republic of Altis and Stratis.
Overview[]
Situated in the north-westernmost tip of Altis, Bomos' only remarkable features are the existence of a shack next to the tallest point on the "island" (measured at a height of 102 metres), a small hut next to the eastern side beach, and a tiny lighthouse located atop the rock cliff to its west.
Due to its remoteness, Bomos was occupied by a small team of insurgents who kept watch over the lighthouse at the height of the FIA's insurgency. They separately established a larger camp next to a chapel to the east.[1] Arms smugglers were also known to have used the beaches on the eastern side of Bomos as a point of ingress, though it was apparently hazardous due to its shallow waters.[2]
History[]
On July 20th, 2035[3], the FIA camp near Bomos was destroyed after Iranian-led CSAT counterinsurgency forces raided the settlement.[4] Several insurgents were killed, and the FIA suffered significant materiel losses. However, CSAT forces did not succeed neutralising its senior leadership, as the insurgency's field commanders and its most skilled fighters managed to flee from the area alive.[5]
Trivia[]
- Bomos' closest real-world equivalent on the island of Lemnos, Greece, is the tourist attraction of Moúrtzephlos, though the real location is actually devoid of trees as opposed to its in-game depiction.

I can not say how long we will find ourselves here, but we must be ready to move again. Our enemy is increasing the pressure upon us. We must now pick our moves with great caution. They grow stronger, but slower. We must adapt to this new threat."
