Buffalo Base was a military outpost located on the main island of Everon in the Everon Socialist Republic.

Overview[]

Buffalo Base was temporarily established as a Forward Arming and Refuelling Point (FARP) for attack helicopters at the height of NATO's counterinvasion of Everon.[1][2] It was located inside a forest clearing between Montignac to its east and Lamentin to the west.[3]

It had improvised helipads that could support up to three helicopters at a time. A field hospital was also set up next to the helipads to quickly retrieve wounded soldiers evacuated from the frontline, while logistics units remained on standby to resupply aviation units.

History[]

After seizing the main airport north of Saint Phillipe[4], U.S.-led NATO forces continued their advance south and eventually carved their way through the Soviet defensive lines at Tyrone and Montignac.[1][5]

Following their defeat at Le Moule, Soviet forces were routed and decisively pushed out of the island's central region.[6][7] U.S. troops quickly set up the FARP to support further attacks into the south. Buffalo Base would continue to remain operational until Everon was finally liberated on June 27th, 1985.[1][8]
