Bystrica is a playable terrain in ArmA 2. It was added with the release of the Army of the Czech Republic DLC.
Overview[]
One of the two larger towns in the province.
A semi-autonomous province in the Green Sea nation of Chernarus, Bystrica is located close to the southern coast. It is sparsely populated with only two towns connected via railway lines and paved roads, along with several smaller villages, dotted throughout the province.
In the years following the end of the Chernarussian Civil War, the province has suffered from a spike in anti-government activity following an armed uprising by a (self-proclaimed) army of militias led by the notorious warlord Radan Miyović. His army, comprised of bandits and looters, have been accused of carrying out an ethnic cleansing against the people of Bystrica.
In response to the growing crisis, the Czech Army's BYSFOR task force has continued (as of 2010) its peacekeeping mission to put a stop to both Miyović and his band of war criminals.
Geography[]
Mountainous forests are a hallmark of Bystrica.
Densely wooded, Bystrica's environment consists of mountainous terrain and corrugated sufaces with steep elevation drops in some areas.
The province is landlocked, though a river runs through the southern half that connects to the rest of Chernarus.
Settlements[]
Only two large towns are known to be established in the province. The remaining villages are either isolated settlements or farming communities built throughout the sprawling forest.

- Bystrica is essentially a summer version of the South Zagoria (Chernarus) terrain with small aesthetic and location changes.
