The C7A1 is a 5.56 mm assault rifle that remains unused by any faction in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany Creator DLC.
Overview[]
- This section is a stub. You can help Armed Assault Wiki by expanding it.
The C7A1 is a selective-fire assault rifle with a direct impingement operation that is chambered to fire the 5.56×45 mm NATO round.
It feeds from 30-round STANAG magazines but can also load older 20-round box magazines utilised by the M16A1. It can attain a fire rate of up to ~ 652 (semi-auto) or 800 (full auto) rounds per minute and retains a muzzle velocity of 960 m/s.
The C7A1 supports being fitted with optical sights, IR/visible laser pointers, flashlights, and 5.56 mm sound suppressors. However, it is not able to mount a bayonet nor a bipod and is also unable to have a laser pointer/flashlight mounted at the same time with an optic.
Ironsights[]
The C7A1's ironsights can be manually zeroed starting at a minimum of 100 metres up to a maximum of 400 metres (100, 200, 300, 400). By default, it uses a zeroing of 300 metres.
If an optical sight with a zeroing limit greater than 400 metres is fitted, the C7A1 will permit a maximum zeroing of 800 metres.
Camouflage[]
- Black: All-black finish.
- Olive: Standard matte black finish with an olive green-coloured handguard and stock.
Ammunition[]
NOTE: The C7A1 is capable of loading the same magazines utilised by non-Global Mobilization 5.56 mm-chambered weapons. To minimise clutter, they are deliberately excluded from this section.

M856 | 9.56 | -0.0009131 | 960 | 10.512 |
M193 | 9 | -0.00108782 | 960 | 10.08 |
M196 | 9 | -0.00108782 | 960 | 10.08 |
The C7A1 is able to load up to eight types of magazines which are shared with all M16-type assault rifles. Its 30-rounder STANAGs weigh a "mass" of 12.2444 while the older 20-round box magazines weigh 7.77778 "mass" units instead.
It should be noted that these magazines are not interchangeable with the G36, G33, and SG550:
5.56 mm 30Rnd M16 Ball M855 Grey Mag[]
Standard 30-round STANAG magazine loaded with newer M855 ball ammunition.
None of the rounds contained within the magazine will emit visible tracers.
5.56 mm 30Rnd M16 Ball-T M856 Grey Mag[]

All thirty rounds of the magazine will emit visible red tracers.
5.56 mm 30Rnd M16 Ball M193 Grey Mag[]
30-round STANAG magazine used by the M16A2. It is still loaded with older M193 ball ammunition, however.
As with the standard 30-rounder magazines, none of the rounds will emit visible tracers when fired.
5.56 mm 30Rnd M16 Ball-T M196 Grey Mag[]
30-round STANAG magazine loaded with older M196 tracer rounds.
5.56 mm 20Rnd M16 Ball M855 Grey Mag[]
Alternate 20-round box magazine loaded with M855 ball ammunition.

Alternate 20-round tracer magazine loaded with M856 tracer ammunition.
5.56 mm 20Rnd M16 Ball M193 Grey Mag[]
Older 20-round box magazine loaded with M193 ball ammunition. Primarily used with the M16A1.
None of the rounds contained within the magazine will emit visible tracers.
5.56 mm 20Rnd M16 Ball-T M196 Grey Mag[]
Tracer magazine loaded with M196 tracer rounds.
All twenty rounds of the magazine will emit visible red tracers.
Trivia[]
- The C7A1 was not initially available on Global Mobilization's release and was only added after Update 1.1.[1]
- Following Update 1.4's release, the C7A1 is now able to load 150-round drum magazines that were added in ArmA 3's Apex expansion.[2]
- The patch also included two "new" magazines loaded with older M196 tracer rounds (only magazines loaded with M193 non-tracer ammunition were available prior to the update).[2]
- The information below details unused, pre-release or removed content.
- Curiously, a separate olive green-coloured variant with a brighter handguard/stock exists within the DLC's files (Texture name: gm_c7a1_ext_01_grn_co.paa[3][4]) but remains unused for unknown reasons.
- It also has a unique text string identifier that would have been used to designate this variant (String name: STR_DN_GM_C7A1_GRN[5]).
