« | A bullpup style assault rifle used by CSAT Pacific forces. It works as a common platform for different weapon types: a standard rifle, GL variant with attached grenade launcher, and a light support version with a longer barrel and drum magazine. The CAR-95 uses polymer materials in its construction and fires 5.8×42 mm small-caliber, high-velocity bullets. Field Manual

The CAR-95 series is a family of modular bullpup assault rifles used by both Pacific and North African CSAT forces. It was added with the release of the Apex DLC.
Variants[]
The CAR-95 is a 5.8 mm bullpup assault rifle used by both Pacific and North African CSAT forces in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Apex DLC.
Overview[]
The CAR-95 is the baseline variant of the CAR-95 family. Along with its sub-variants, it is chambered to fire the 5.8×42 mm round.
It loads from 30-round curved magazines, and can attain a fire rate of roughly ~ 652 rounds per minute with a muzzle velocity of 930 m/s. The CAR-95 can fit accessories on both its top and side rails and can also mount muzzle attachments.
Performance-wise, the baseline CAR-95 is identical to its Mediterranean CSAT counterpart and is similarly outclassed by the MX when it comes to accuracy. The CAR-95's rate of fire is lower than that of the Katiba (800) but it does retain a slightly higher ROF compared to the MX (652 versus the MX's 625).
The CAR-95 GL is a 5.8 mm bullpup assault rifle used by both Pacific and North African CSAT forces in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Apex DLC.
Overview[]
The CAR-95 GL is simply a modified version of the baseline CAR-95 variant that has an underbarrel grenade launcher attached to it.
As with its parent model, it is also chambered to fire the same cased 5.8×42 mm round while the UGL can launch a variety of 40 mm grenades ranging from lethal high-explosive (HE) rounds to less-than-lethal (LTL) and non-lethal flare/smoke shells.
It loads from the same 30-round curved magazines, and can attain a fire rate of roughly 652 rounds per minute with a muzzle velocity of 930 m/s. The CAR-95 GL's top and side rails can be fitted with accessories and is also able to mount muzzle attachments. Meanwhile, the underbarrel GL 15A grenade launcher is combined with a sighting device which can be zeroed to launch grenades at distances of up to 400 metres away.
In terms of performance, the CAR-95 GL is identical to its Iranian-made counterpart and is still outclassed by the MX accuracy-wise. The CAR-95 GL does have a higher rate of fire compared to the MX (652 versus the MX's 625), but is still lacking when it is matched up against the Katiba (800).
Lastly, because the GL 15A uses a conventional sighting device as opposed to a red dot quadrant sight like the Katiba and MX, it is slightly more inconvenient to aim with (though the capabilities remain identical).
The CAR-95-1 is a 5.8 mm bullpup light support weapon used by both Pacific and North African CSAT forces in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Apex DLC.
Overview[]
The CAR-95-1 is a modified variant with a light support weapon configuration. It is chambered to fire the same 5.8×42 mm round as its parent rifle, but loads from 100-round drums as opposed to the curved magazines of its parent.
It can attain a slightly greater fire rate of up to 800 rounds per minute along with an increased muzzle velocity of 970 m/s. The CAR-95-1 is able to mount accessories onto both its top and side rails, and can also be fitted with muzzle attachments. It does not require an externally-fitted mount as the barrel features a integral folding bipod.
The CAR-95-1 is much better than its baseline variant when it comes to both accuracy and fire rate - mostly due to its longer barrel. Combined with the integral bipod, the CAR-95-1's user can maintain a steady hail of suppressive fire on full auto.
This does however, come at the cost of being heavier to carry and being twice as bulky to wield in close quarters. Likewise, it still remains outclassed by the MX SW when it comes to accuracy at long ranges. However, the CAR-95-1 retains a much greater rate of fire (800 versus the MX SW's 750) which renders it the better of the two weapons for suppression purposes.
Ironsights[]
When an optical sight with a zeroing limit greater than 600 metres is attached onto the top rail (e.g. Nightstalker), the CAR-95 will only allow for a maximum zeroing of 800 metres.
When an optical sight with a zeroing limit greater than 600 metres is attached onto the top rail (e.g. Nightstalker), the CAR-95 GL will only allow for a maximum zeroing of 800 metres.
When an optical sight with a zeroing limit greater than 600 metres is attached onto the top rail (e.g. Nightstalker), the CAR-95-1 will only allow for a maximum zeroing of 1,000 metres.
By default, the sight uses a zeroing of 100 metres. It is not illuminated.
Camouflage[]
All three variants feature the following finish options:
- Black: Standard black paint finish.
- Hex: Arid Hexacam camouflage pattern.
- Green Hex: Tropical Hexacam camouflage pattern.
Ammunition[]
Base damage value | Aerodynamic friction | Initial velocity (m/s) | Penetration depth (mm) |
---|---|---|---|
9.4 | -0.0011 | 930 | 12.55 |
For grenade rounds usable with the GL 15A, refer to its dedicated article here.
All variants of the baseline CAR-95 rifle and the CAR-95-1 support being fed from either the two regular curved magazines or the 100-round drums. They are fully interchangeable; there is no restriction between the variants:
5.8 mm 30Rnd Mag[]
Standard 30-round curved magazine loaded 5.8 mm ball ammunition. Has a weight of 8 "mass" units.
The last four rounds of the magazine always emit visible green tracers.
5.8 mm 30Rnd Tracer (Green) Mag[]
Tracer magazine loaded with thirty rounds worth of visible green tracers. It also has a weight of 8 "mass" units.
5.8 mm 100Rnd Mag[]
Drum magazine intended for use with the CAR-95-1 LSW, though it is interchangeable with stock CAR-95 rifles. It has a weight of 20 "mass" units.
Like with standard curved magazines, the last four rounds of the drum consist solely of visible green tracers. However, it is available in three finishes: the Black, Green Hex, and Arid Hex.
5.8 mm 100Rnd Tracer (Green) Mag[]
Dedicated tracer drum magazine loaded with one hundred tracer rounds. It shares the same weight of 20 "mass" units.
It is also available in three camouflage schemes: Black, Green Hex, and Arid Hex.
