Design

The Car is a rear-engined, rear-wheel drive car with a 4-speed gearbox and independent suspension at the front.

Features
A common sight in the Democratic Republic of Sahrani, this Soviet-era car, although incredibly outdated by modern standards, continues to remain as a reliable transport for travel throughout Northern cities.

Mobility
Cars retain virtually identical handling compared to Sedans. The sole difference with the Car is its top speed, which caps out at a maximum of 110 km/h rather than 125 km/h.

Crew Capacity
Cars provide enough seats for a driver and three additional passengers.

Camouflage

  • White: All-white paint scheme.
  • Blue: Pale light blue paint scheme.
  • Red: Flat red paint scheme.
  • Green: Bright green paint scheme.

Protection

Cars have base armour values of 20.

Body

The vehicle's body can resist up to 20 points of damage.

Engine

The engine can survive 8 points of damage before failure.

Fuel tank

The Car's fuel tank can only take 6 points of damage before rupturing.

Wheels

Tyres on the Car will burst if they take more than 3 points of damage.

Trivia

  • Armed Assault's generically-named Cars are based on real-world 1977 models of the "Skoda 105" then-designed by Czechoslovakian car manufacturer AZNP.

The Car is driven by Chernarussian civilians in ArmA 2.

Armoury Description

Design

Cars return in ArmA 2 and, alongside Ladas and Sedans, are driven by civilians throughout Chernarus.

Features
Functionally, little has changed from their Armed Assault predecessor aside from a change in paint schemes. They aren't designed to do much more than carry the driver and a few passengers.

Mobility
Despite its age, Cars have surprisingly decent handling and acceleration. Cars are able to attain their top speed of 91 km/h in just under ten seconds - though it should be noted that this solely achievable on flat terrain.

When driven off-road, the Car remains just as terrible as the former two when it comes to both acceleration and handling.

Crew Capacity
The Car can transport its driver and up to three passengers at a time.

Camouflage

  • Blue: Heavily-rusted blue colour scheme.
  • Green: Green paint scheme with a bright green bonnet and trunk.
  • Red: Flat red paint scheme.
  • White: Flat white paint scheme.

Protection

The Car has a base armour value of 20.

Successful strikes to any of the following highlighted sections will inflict full damage to the component:

LEGEND
Green = Body
Orange = Engine
Violet = Fuel tank

Body

The vehicle body can survive 20 points of damage.

Engine

The engine can resist up to 8 points of damage before failing. A damaged engine will prevent the Car from attaining its top speed.

Fuel tank

The fuel tank can only withstand 6 points of damage before rupturing. Damaging the fuel tank will cause it to gradually leak fuel over time.

Wheels

The Car's tyres will burst if they take more than 3 points of damage.

Trivia

  • ArmA 2's Car is simply an updated port of its predecessor from Armed Assault.
  • Despite not being a usable asset, rusted wrecks of the Car are featured in ArmA 3 and can be placed through the editor or Curator module.
