Infantry fighting vehicles

This category specifically lists infantry fighting vehicles featured throughout the ARMA series.

Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFV) are distinguished from Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC), which are only designed as armoured troop transports. IFVs are typically characterised by their heavy armament, which can consist of anti-tank guided missiles or large calibre autocannons/chain guns.

Unlike APCs, this weaponry allows them to provide direct fire support for dismounted infantry. As well as possessing medium-heavy armour plating, they can be either tracked or wheeled vehicles.
