Corazol is a settlement located in the southern provinces of the Kingdom of Sahrani.
Overview[]
Corazol is situated on the former border between the Kingdom of South Sahrani and the (now dissolved) Democratic Republic of Sahrani. Prior to the island's reunification[1], Corazol was divided by a wall of tank barriers, guard towers and landmines between Northern and Southern military forces[2], though they have since been dismantled completely after the country's reunification.[3]
The city's architecture is a stark reflection of the contrast between the South and (former) North. Corazol's western district is filled with brightly decorated and colourful buildings, with the streets lined with shops and financial institutions.[4]
Meanwhile, the eastern district is cluttered with uniform and dull, reddish-brown painted apartment blocks arranged in a fixed layout, a legacy of its recent Communist past.[4]
History[]

U.S./Southern troops are forced to retreat following the surprise invasion (2006)
During the war against the North, it was the first city to be occupied on June 10th, 2006[1], when Northern forces launched a surprise attack against Southern troops stationed along the border.[5][6]
American units responding to the assault came under heavy fire from Northern tanks and were forced to retreat from the city.[6] It would continue to remain under Northern control until two days later when allied reinforcements were at last able to liberate the city on June 12th.[1][7]
Facilities[]
Harbours[]

Corazol has two ports of entry on the northern and southern sides of the city:[8]
- The southern harbour has two ferry lines that connect to the town Dolores and the city of Plymouth, United Kingdom (approximately ~ 3,180 km away)
- The northern harbour also has two ferry lines linked to the seaside village of Rashidah and to New York City, U.S.A. (approximately ~ 3,067 km away)
Trivia[]
- In the trimmed down version of the Sahrani terrain (South Sahrani), the northern side of Corazol is cut off since the rest of the Sahranian landmass doesn't exist on this version of the terrain. As a result, the bridge and roadways leading into the north are cut short and many of the props that would connect the two islands together are missing.
- On the other hand, the United Sahrani version of the terrain (added in Queen's Gambit) has the fortification props removed to reflect the nation's post-civil war reunification.
