Denmark is a BLUFOR faction in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany Creator DLC.

Overview[]

A member state of the NATO alliance, a contingent of troops from the Royal Danish Army assist their West German allies in maintaining security along the East-West German border regions.

It consists predominately of mechanised/motorised infantry elements, supported by a few heavy armour units in addition to special operations teams from the Army's elite Jaeger Corps (Danish: Jægerkorpset).

Equipment[]

1980s[]

Camouflage schemes used by 1980s forces:
- M84 (Left)
- Winter (Centre)
- Olive (Right)

At the height of the Cold War, conventional Danish soldiers wore M/84 combat uniforms, M/52 helmets and M/54 load bearing vests. Ground vehicle crews on the other hand, wear uncamouflaged versions of the M/84 adorned in an olive green colour scheme.

Special operations personnel preferred to wear unarmoured boonies and wool hats in lieu of ballistic helmets, though they still wore the same combat uniform as their conventional counterparts.

Aside from vehicular crewmen, all equipment is camouflaged in either the M84 woodland pattern or a flat white colour for deployments in snowy conditions, although this camouflage isn't applied onto their backpacks which simply use an olive colour scheme.

1990s[]

Camouflage schemes used by 1990s forces:
- M84 (Left)
- Winter (Right)

Towards the end of the 20th century, the Danish military has initiated a sweeping wave of modernisation programmes aimed at gearing itself for deployments outside of the European continent.

Although regular infantry continue to don 1980s-era M/84 uniforms, every soldier is now issued a set of M/00 flak jackets along with M/96 combat helmets.

All personal equipment is still camouflaged in the Armed Forces' M84 pattern for forested environments, while operations in colder regions remain coloured in flat white.

Trivia[]

  • Denmark was included as part of the three default factions available upon Global Mobilization's initial release, though it did not get a dedicated suite of weapons and vehicles until Update 1.1.[1]
  • Special operations units were not added until the release of Update 1.2, though only for their 1980s-era forces.[2] 1990s-era SOF would only be included after Update 1.5's release.[3]
  • As of current, Danish units still utilise placeholder American English radio protocols. The development team has stated that a proper suite of Danish voices are planned for inclusion, though translations for the protocol have yet to be started.[4]
