Djibril Kewmbe is a minor antagonist in ArmA Tactics' Operation Tempest campaign.
Background[]
Leader of the militias terrorising Central Africa, Kwembe lives inside a self-styled "fortress" near the city of Lagados. It is a sprawling compound located at the peak of a mountain that comprises of disused factory buildings and shanty villages guarded by his militias.
His militia engages in arms smuggling and the black market trade of illicit materials. He is a close ally of the notorious international fugitive Ibrahim Soltani, and supplies most of the terrorist organisation's weapons and explosives.
Operation Tempest[]
Kwembe hosted a meeting with Soltani to arrange for another shipment of contraband. To protect his client and to prevent government forces from interfering, he had stationed surface-to-air missile launchers around the compound to dissuade aerial attacks.
Less than twenty four hours after Soltani's arrival, a team of U.S. Special Forces raided his "fortress" and killed many of his fighters whilst in pursuit of Soltani's trail. Luckily, he had already departed shortly before the Americans attacked and was planning to destroy the chemical plant at Dhargan.
However, one of Kwembe's underlings caved into the Americans when he was captured. He accidentally revealed Soltani's plans during the interrogation, completely undermining his client's operation and essentially sealing the latter's fate at the hands of the Americans.
Trivia[]
- Kwembe is never actually seen for the few missions of Operation Tempest where he is explicitly mentioned.
