The EOD Vest is a ballistic/explosive-resistant vest worn by IDAP aid workers in ArmA 3.
Overview[]
The EOD Vest has a weight of 65 "mass" units.[CfgWp 1] It only allows the wearer to store a maximum of 30 "mass" units worth of ammunition/items into its pockets.[CfgWp 2]
Issued to the IDAP's field specialists, the EOD Vest is a heavy-duty protective vest. It is intended to provide limited protection for activities such as mine clearing and is available in multiple colour varieties. Essentially, the EOD Vest is identical to the mil-spec GA Carrier GL Rig but the sole difference stems from their appearance and choice of camouflage.
It is rated at Level IV standards but isn't designed with safety against ballistic projectiles in mind, allowing its wearer to resist (at most) a single direct hit from a 7.62 mm bullet. The extra addons to the vest like the shoulder pads and pelvic guard, are primarily intended to cover the wearer's vital body parts against small explosions.
The primary drawback of the EOD Vest stems from its storage capacity. With a tiny limit of only 30 "mass" units[CfgWp 2], the EOD Vests' user can bring along at most three rifle magazines. Anything beyond this amount cannot be held in the vest's pouches.
