The F1 SMG is a 9 mm submachine gun used exclusively by Australian military forces in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the S.O.G. Prairie Fire Creator DLC.
Overview[]
- This section is a stub. You can help Armed Assault Wiki by expanding it.
The F1 SMG is a blowback-operated, selective-fire submachine gun. It is chambered for the 9×19 mm cartridge and fires from an open bolt.
It exclusively feeds from 34-round curved magazines (shared with the L2A3/L34A1) and has a muzzle velocity of 488 m/s.[CfgWp 8] Depending on the selected firemode, F1s can attain a fire rate of either 750 rounds per minute when firing on semi-auto[CfgWp 9][Formula 1] or up to 625 RPM on full auto.[CfgWp 10][Formula 2]
F1s cannot be fitted with sound suppressors, camouflage wraps or bipods. However, the user can mount the same bayonet shared with L1A1 rifles onto the right side of the barrel jacket.[CfgWp 11]
Ironsights[]

Ironsights on the F1 SMG allow for zeroing to be adjusted manually, though it is restricted to two fixed range settings of either 100 metres or 200 metres.[CfgWp 12] By default, they utilise a zeroing of 100 metres.[CfgWp 13]
Melee[]
Without a bayonet attached, melee attacks with the F1 SMG involve striking at targets with a buttstroke. Melee attacks can inflict up to 7 points of damage if they connect with the target successfully.[CfgAm 1] Bayonet stabs on the other hand, deal 10.5 points of damage instead.[CfgAm 2]
It should be noted that melee attacks cost stamina. Performing a buttstroke or bayonet stab will drain up to 4.55 points of stamina.[Formula 3][SCR 1]

F1 SMGs are able to load two types of magazines that are fully interchangeable with L2A3 and L34A1 SMGs.[CfgWp 14] Both magazines share the same weight of 8[CfgMa 3] "mass" units:
34Rnd. F1/L2A3/L34A1 Mag[]

34-round curved magazine loaded with a mix of 9 mm ball and tracer ammunition.[CfgMa 4]
Every fourth round fired will emit a visible red tracer.[CfgMa 5] The last four rounds of the magazine will always emit visible tracers.[CfgMa 6]
34Rnd. F1/L2A3/L34A1 Mag (Tracer)[]

Alternate 34-rounder magazine loaded entirely with 9 mm red tracer ammunition.[CfgMa 7][CfgMa 8]

Trivia[]
- The F1 SMG was not initially available upon the DLC's release and was only added after Update 1.2.[1][2]
- Upon being initially added in Update 1.2, the F1's model had a few visual glitches. They were eventually fixed after the release of Update 1.3:[3]
- Loaded magazines did not have any visible cartridges.
- The magazines had incorrect descriptions and used a different model when dropped onto the ground.
