Design

The Bus is a single-engined, four-wheel, single-decker mass transit vehicle.

Features
It is mainly utilised by the citizens of Nogova as a public transport vehicle. Early on during the Soviet occupation of Nogova, some buses were also re-purposed by the partisans as improvised troop transports.

Mobility
Handling-wise, the Bus has extremely poor control in almost every aspect. It cannot accelerate very quickly, is unable to perform pinpoint turns, and is restricted to an absolute top speed of 75 km/h (in most cases it will struggle to maintain 60 km/h).

Drawbacks
As a civilian vehicle, it obviously does not possess any armour plating or the ability to mount any weapons. Aside from being able to carry a large number of passengers simultaneously, the Bus does not possess any other notably useful traits; save for being utilised as an impromptu troop carrier to ferry large numbers of troops at once between locations.

Given its large size and conspicuously bright red paint scheme, it isn't particularly subtle for stealth purposes and is better off used as a last resort only.

Crew Capacity
The Bus has a maximum transportation capacity of twenty seven passengers, with a total of twenty eight when including the driver.

Trivia

• The in-game Bus is based on the "Karosa ŠM 11" then-designed by Karosa, a vehicle manufacturer based in the Czech Republic. The company was renamed to Iveco Bus after its acquisition by Iveco of Italy (itself a subsidiary of the Dutch conglomerate CNH Industrial).
• During the Resistance campaign, Victor Troska can choose to take the bus instead of riding his motorcycle at the start of the Invasion mission.
• The Bus in Cold War Assault is the only land vehicle to date in the entire series that has the largest passenger capacity out of all wheeled/tracked vehicles.

Design

The Bus returns in Armed Assault and continues to serve as a single-deck bus intended for mass civil transportation throughout Sahrani's clustered cities.

Mobility
The Bus is difficult to control on any surfaces other than on paved roads. Due to its size, it requires plenty of space to make turns and has difficulty maintaining speed as well.

Drawbacks
Like its Cold War Assault predecessor, the Bus naturally does not retain any armament and lacks any proper armour plating, meaning that its passengers are completely vulnerable to small arms fire.

Crew Capacity
Aside from the driver, the Bus contains twelve more seats for passengers to sit in.

• The Bus in Armed Assault is modelled after the real-world "Ikarus 533" bus.
• Out of the three Buses in the series, the Armed Assault iteration is the only one that has the least amount of seats with a maximum of twelve passengers (not including the driver).

Design

The ArmA 2 Bus is a single-decked, four-wheeled, mass transit vehicle that uses a six-cylinder diesel engine. It is designed primarily to transport passengers between cities, suburban zones, and in heavily built-up areas.

Mobility
While driving on paved roads, the Bus can attain average speeds of up to 70 km/h (it has an absolute speed of 80 km/h) and is quite fast for a vehicle for its size.

However, it accelerates slowly and is rather difficult to handle since it requires a lot of clearance to make even the slightest of turns. Furthermore, it is limited to an absolute maximum speed of 28 km/h while driving off-road.

Crew Capacity
The Bus has a total of twenty four seats. Excluding the driver, it is able to transport up to twenty three passengers at a time.

• Red: Dark grey body with a light red stripe and markings meant to replicate the Takistani flag. Used by Takistani Buses.

Engine

Bus engines can only survive 8 points of damage before failing. At least 20% of damage is shared with the vehicle's main "health" pool.

A damaged engine will prevent Buses from being able to attain its top speed.

Fuel tank

The fuel tank can only take a meagre 6 points of damage before rupturing. At least 50% of damage is shared with the vehicle's main "health" pool.

Incurred damage will cause Buses to gradually leak fuel over time.

Wheels

Each tyre can incur just 3 points of damage before bursting.

Trivia

• The in-game Bus is directly based on the "Ikarus 260" designed by Hungary-based vehicle manufacturer Ikarus (also known as Ikarus Bus).
• While it transports four less passengers than its Cold War Assault counterpart, the Bus has the greatest passenger capacity out of all the land vehicles in ArmA 2, with only the USMC AAVP-7A1 coming in second with a total of nineteen seats.
