Sedans are civilian subcompact cars featured in ArmA: Armed Assault and ArmA 2.

ArmA: Armed Assault[]

Design[]

The Sedan is a four-door, front-wheel drive car with a front-engine layout.

Features
Outdated but nonetheless reliable as ever, the Sedan is driven by many Sahranians all over the Kingdom. It is suitable for both city and residential suburban areas, though it isn't recommended for off-road travel.

Mobility
Compared to the Hatchback, both vehicles share the same top speed of ~ 100 km/h. The Sedan's only weakness is that it turns stiffly on sharp corners. Overall, however, handling isn't too different from the Hatchback with both retaining the same acceleration rate and poor stability on uneven terrain.

Crew Capacity
The Sedan is capable of carrying both its driver and up to three other passengers at a time.

Protection[]

Sedans have base armour values of 20.

Body[]

The vehicle's body can resist up to 20 points of damage.

Engine[]

The engine can survive 8 points of damage before failure.

Fuel tank[]

The fuel tank can only take 6 points of damage before rupturing.

Wheels[]

Tyres on the Sedan will burst if they take more than 3 points of damage.

Trivia[]

  • Armed Assault's Sedans are based on the real-world 1989 models of the "Geo Prizm" series of compact cars jointly manufactured by Toyota and General Motors.
  • Originally, the Sedan had a different acceleration rate and maximum speed when Armed Assault was first released. Its engine performance was slightly changed after Patch 1.06.[1]

ArmA 2[]

Sedans are driven by Chernarussian civilians in ArmA 2.

Design[]

Returning in ArmA 2, Sedans continue to serve as old but reliable forms of transport within inner city areas.

Features
Not much has changed from its Armed Assault predecessor. As before, the Sedan can carry a few passengers but has overall average specs and speed on paved roads.

Mobility
Like German-made Hatchbacks, the ArmA 2 Sedan is faster than both the Lada and the Car as it can attain a top speed of up to ~ 101 km/h. When it comes to handling however, the Sedan shares almost identical handling to both vehicles and will struggle to maintain its speed on sharp turns.

Crew Capacity
The Sedan supports both the driver and up to three passengers.

Protection[]

The Sedan has a base armour value of 20.

Successful strikes to any of the following highlighted sections will inflict full damage to the component:

Body[]

The vehicle's body can resist up to 20 points of damage.

Engine[]

The engine can only survive up to 8 points of damage before failing. At least 20% of damage is shared with the vehicle's main "health" pool.

A damaged engine will prevent the Sedan from being able to attain its top speed.

Fuel tank[]

The fuel tank can only take a meagre 6 points of damage before rupturing. At least 50% of damage is shared with the vehicle's main "health" pool.

Incurred damage will cause the Sedan to gradually leak fuel over time.

Wheels[]

Each tyre can incur just 3 points of damage before bursting.

Trivia[]

  • ArmA 2's Sedan is simply an updated port of the same model from Armed Assault.
  • Prior to the latest Steam version patches (as part of the Community Configuration Project), the Sedan's interior did not have proper sound attenuation and would be completely silent if either the driver or its passengers were looking in first person.[2]
