The G3A3 is a 7.62 mm battle rifle used exclusively by West German military forces in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany Creator DLC.
Overview[]
- This section is a stub. You can help Armed Assault Wiki by expanding it.
The G3A3 is a selective-fire battle rifle that uses a roller-delayed blowback operating system. It is chambered to fire the ubiquitous 7.62×51 mm cartridge.
It loads exclusively from 20-round box magazines designed specifically for use with the G3 family of rifles, though it is also able to load high/reduced capacity 40-, 10-, and 5-round magazines that can be shared with other weapons based on the G3's design.
It can attain a fire rate of approximately ~ 550 rounds per minute and has a muzzle velocity of 800 m/s. The G3A3 utilises a claw mount and can be fitted with a wide variety of optical sights, IR/visible laser pointers, flashlights (both on the receiver and underbarrel), as well as either a bayonet or a 7.62 mm sound suppressor.
Variants[]
G3A3A0[]
The G3A3A0 variant is statistically unchanged from the baseline G3A3 rifle. The only modification is that it now features a wider handguard that allows for a folding bipod to be mounted.
However, one caveat is that the G3A3A0 no longer allows for a flashlight to be attached onto the handguard. The result of this change is that it is not possible to have an optical sight and a flashlight fitted onto the rifle at the same time.
It should be noted that the G3A3A0 is the only G3 rifle that has a separate model with a gold-plated finish. This unique finish is not available to any other G3 variant.
G3A3A1[]
The G3A3A1 is statistically identical to its parent rifle. The main difference is that it features a redesigned handguard with Picatinny rails positioned at the three, six and nine o'clock positions.
The three o'clock rail can be fitted with post-Cold War flashlights and IR laser pointers, while the six o'clock rail allows for (also post-Cold War) tactical bipods to be attached.
However, the upper receiver still only allows for optics with a claw mount to be fitted. Additionally, the G3A3A1 also loses the ability to mount a bayonet and cannot be fitted with the G3's dedicated bipod.
G3A4[]
The G3A4 variant removes the fixed stock and replaces it with a collapsible stock.
This change applies a slight reduction to the G3A4's inertia penalty, reducing it by almost ~ 14%. The fixed stock's omission also shaves the weapon's weight to ~ 90 "mass". Aside from these two changes, the G3A4 remains mostly unchanged and still supports the same attachments as the G3A3.
G3A4A0[]
The G3A4A0 combines the collapsible stock of the G3A4 with the widened handguard of the G3A3A0.
As with the G3A3A0, the changed handguard will allow for the G3's dedicated folding bipod to be mounted. It also shares the same limitation with the G3A3A0, meaning that it is no longer possible to have a flashlight and an optical sight attached at the same time.
G3A4A1[]
The G3A4A1 features the same collapsible stock used on the G3A4 but has a total of four Picatinny rails: three on the handguard (at the three, six and nine o'clock positions) and one on the upper receiver (attached with a claw mount).
The side and underbarrel rails allow for post-Cold War IR laser pointers, flashlights, and tactical bipods to be attached. All Picatinny-compatible optics can also be fitted onto the top rail. However, it is no longer possible to mount bayonets and the G3's dedicated bipod.
G3KA4[]
The G3KA4 utilises a carbine configuration and features a sliding stock. Compared to the baseline G3A3, the G3KA4 has a reduced muzzle velocity of 736 m/s as a result of its shorter barrel, though it gains the same ~ 14% reduced inertia buff with the G3A4.
When it comes to attachments, all claw mount-based optics, IR/visible laser pointers, flashlights, and sound suppressors can be fitted. Even the G3's dedicated folding bipod can be attached, though it is not possible to have a bayonet fitted, nor is it possible to have a laser pointer/flashlight fitted simultaneously with an optic.
Lastly, it should be noted that the G3KA4 does not allow for rifle grenades to be loaded and fired from the muzzle.
G3KA4A1[]
The G3KA4A1 incorporates four Picatinny rails: three on the handguard and one on the upper receiver.
The handguard's side (three o'clock) and underbarrel (six o'clock) rails allow for post-Cold War IR laser pointers, flashlights, and tactical bipods to be attached. Meanwhile, any Picatinny-compatible optics can be mounted onto the top rail.
Aside from these changes, the G3KA4A1 shares the same benefits and drawbacks with the G3KA4.
G3SG1[]
The G3SG1 is a marksman rifle configuration of the G3, featuring a cheek rest on the stock and significantly improved accuracy.
Attachment-wise, the G3SG1 is effectively identical to the G3A3A0 and allows for claw mount optics, IR/visible laser pointers, flashlights, and the G3's bipod to be fitted (no flashlight may be mounted onto the handguard, however).
GV M/75[]
GV M/75 is the Danish military's designation for the G3A3.
Statistically and functionally, the GV M/75 is unchanged and bears no differences to its parent West German counterpart.
GV M/75 Carbine[]
The GV M/75 Carbine is wielded by certain units within the Danish military.
Just like the baseline GV M/75 rifle, the GV M/75 Carbine is also the Danish designation for the G3A4. Except for its reduced ~ 14% inertia penalty, there are no functional differences between the two weapons.
Ironsights[]

All variants of the G3 family can load six unique types of magazines. These six magazine types are available in capacities of 5-, 10-, 20- and 40-round models. They all share the same Black colour scheme, though there is a single version of the 20-rounder magazine that is available with a unique Gold texture.
All of these magazines are fully interchangeable with the MSG90 sniper rifle but cannot be loaded into the SG542 battle rifle:
