« Brand-new plate carrier vests are at the disposal of LDF warfighters. They come in the geometric woodland camouflage and olive green plain variants. As has become standard, these vests were designed with modular quick-release options for pockets and pouches in mind. The heaviest version offers greater protection for sensitive parts of the body, such as the neck and groin.

The Modular Carrier Vest is a ballistic-resistant vest used by the Livonian Defense Force in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Contact DLC.

Overview[]

Premium content logo
This is a premium asset that requires ownership of the Contact expansion pack.

The Modular Carrier Vest is a lightweight plate carrier worn by the LDF's ground vehicle crewmen and other non-combat infantry classes. It only weighs a total of 60 "mass" and provides enough space for just 60 units of ammunition/gear. It is rated at Level III protection standards, and has plate inserts covering the user's chest, abdomen and diaphragm.

The Modular Carrier Vest is essentially a bare bones version of the Modular Carrier Lite with no pouches or a holster attached. Statistically, it is lighter to wear (60 versus 70 "mass") but suffers from a significant loss in storage capacity due to the lack of pouches. In all other aspects, it remains completely unchanged and has the same amount of surface coverage.

Hitpoints[]

Body part Base armour value Damage reduction modifier (vs. ballistic) Damage reduction modifier (vs. explosions)
Abdomen 16 70% 70%
Chest 16 70% 70%
Diaphragm 16 70% 70%

Camouflage[]

  • Geometric: Fractal woodland-themed camouflage intended to mimic the LDF's Geometric pattern.
  • Olive: Pale olive-green colour scheme.

Trivia[]

  • Modular Carrier Vests are based on the real-world "KWM-02" plate carrier vest[1] designed by MASKPOL S.A., a Polish protective gear manufacturer.[2]
  • For the opening cutscene of the Old Man mini-campaign/scenario, several French Foreign Legionnaires are briefly seen wearing the Modular Carrier Vest.
    • Amusingly, its appearance in the cutscene is extremely anachronistic given the fact that the photograph depicts an FFL deployment taking place in the year 2000. This is more than twenty years before the Livonian Defense Force commenced its modernisation programmes.
