OUTDATED: The information in this article is currently out-of-date and needs to be updated with newer information based on changes from a recent patch.

The Fla-SFL 23-4V1 is a tracked anti-aircraft vehicle used exclusively by East German military forces in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany Creator DLC.

Overview[]

  • Roles:
    • Low altitude anti-aircraft defence
    • Fire support

Design[]

This section is a stub. You can help Armed Assault Wiki by expanding it.

Armament
It is armed with quad 23 mm anti-aircraft autocannnons that can fire either high-explosive incendiary (HEI-T) or armour-piercing incendiary (API-T) type shells. By default, the Fla-SFL 23-4V1 has access to 2,000 rounds worth of HEI-T and 500 rounds of API-T shells. Neither munition type has spares to reload from.

Features
The gunner's sight is not magnified and lacks access to enhanced vision modes. However, the commander's periscope does have the ability to activate a night vision mode and can be used to spot targets for the gunner in low-light conditions.

Crew Capacity
The Fla-SFL 23-4V1 has a maximum crew capacity of three consisting of the driver, a gunner, and the commander. No passengers may be carried either internally or externally.

Camouflage[]

NOTE: The Fla-SFL 23-4V1 has additional camouflage schemes for non-East German BLUFOR/REDFOR nations. Please note that these nations are not actually featured as playable factions in the DLC.

American[]

NOTE: Not featured as a playable faction.

East German[]

Soviet[]

NOTE: Not featured as a playable faction.

Protection[]

The Fla-SFL 23-4V1 has a base armour value of 600. It is not possible to retrofit the vehicle with any kind of addon armour.

Hull[]

The Fla-SFL 23-4V1's hull can withstand a maximum of 960 points of damage. It takes 80% reduced damage from high-explosive (HE) type munitions. 160% of incoming damage is always shared with the Fla-SFL 23-4V1's main "health" pool.

Depletion of the hull's integrity has a high chance of causing a catastrophic kill if the Fla-SFL 23-4V1 is at or near critical "health" status.

Engine[]

The engine is able to survive up to 270 points of damage. It takes 80% less damage from HE-type munitions. No damage inflicted upon the engine is ever shared with the Fla-SFL 23-4V1's main "health" pool.

Tracks[]

The Fla-SFL 23-4V1's tracks consist of the treads, sprockets and wheels. Each of these components can be damaged individually and will progressively affect the Fla-SFL 23-4V1's mobility depending on the severity of damage and how many components remain intact:

  • The wheels, idlers and sprockets can each take a maximum of 50 points of damage. They take 200% additional damage from HE-type munitions.
  • Both treads can withstand up to 650 points of damage. They take 50% less damage from HE-type munitions.

In all cases, no damage to any of these components is shared with the Fla-SFL 23-4V1's main "health" pool.

Turret[]

The turret's traverse and elevation mechanisms are considered to be separate components within the turret. They each can withstand a maximum of 180 points of damage before they fail. Both take 40% less damage from HE-type munitions. Damage to either mechanism will not be shared with the Fla-SFL 23-4V1's main "health" pool.

Ammo storage[]

The Fla-SFL 23-4V1's ammunition storage containers can only withstand a maximum of 300 points of damage before they explode. They reduce up to 100% of incoming damage from HE-type munitions. 100% of damage to the containers will always be shared with the Fla-SFL 23-4V1's main "health" pool.

Components[]

NOTE: Cosmetic-only component modules with no gameplay effects are deliberately excluded from this section.

  • Add Commander Searchlight Cover: Attaching the cover will block the commander's searchlight from being able to project a spotlight (it is still possible to activate it, however).
  • Add Search Radar: Shows or hides the target detection and tracking radar mounted above the turret. Note that the Fla-SFL 23-4V1's Active Radar sensor can still be activated even if this component is hidden.
  • Add Camo Net - Hull: Covers the front of the hull with camouflage nets (the rear and both sides of the hull are not covered). The nets do not mask the Fla-SFL 23-4V1's thermal signature.
  • Add Camo Net - Turret: Drapes camouflage nets on both sides of the turret but not over the front and rear. Camo nets do not reduce the Fla-SFL 23-4V1's thermal signature.
  • Add Foliage - Hull: Attaches shrubbery and tree branches on all sides of the hull.
  • Add Foliage - Turret: Attaches shrubbery and tree branches over the turret (aside from the turret's roof and rear).

Sensors[]

The Fla-SFL 23-4V1's turret-mounted radar dish is designed to detect and track low-flying aircraft:

Sensor type Max range (Air/Ground) Min range (Air/Ground) Affected by environment? Target max speed (km/h) Azimuth coverage (°) Elevation coverage (°) Friendly identification range (m)
Active A: 10,000 m
G: 3,000 m
A: 10,000 m
G: 3,000 m
Terrain clutter (200 m) 324 km/h 360° 100° 8,000 m

Active Radar[]

The radar provides full horizontal coverage and is not limited by the radar's facing direction.

Armament[]

The gunner exclusively has control over the Fla-SFL 23-4V1's 2A7 23 mm autocannons. For optics, their day sight (AA01) has a fixed magnification of 6x. It does not have access to enhanced vision modes:

2A7[]

Arma3-vehicleweapons-flasfl23v41-2a7
Shell name Base damage value Damage type Aerodynamic friction Initial velocity (m/s) Penetration depth (mm)
HEI-T OFZT 27.6971 High-Explosive -0.000296889 980 8.81758
API-T BZT 52.47 Armour Piercing -0.000296889 980 55.99994

Quad 23 mm anti-aircraft autocannons. It can load and fire either HE or AP-type shells:

  • HEI-T OFZT: Dual-purpose munition. It has a blast radius of 5.04075 metres. It is partially considered to be an armour piercing munition and can penetrate approximately ~ 8 millimetres of armour plating (direct impact only).
  • API-T BZT: Anti-ground vehicle munition. Fired with a muzzle velocity of 980 m/s. Can penetrate up to ~ 55 millimetres of armour plating.

It can attain a fire rate of up to 3,750 rounds per minute. Accuracy-wise, it has a dispersion of 0.0025 rad. Upon depletion, it will take up to 60 seconds to fully rearm both munition types from a logistics truck.

The 2A7 technically has access to a Fire Control System but it only supports lead against targets moving at speeds of up to 198 km/h. Manual zeroing is possible, starting from a minimum of 100 m up to a maximum of 1900 m. Adjustments are made with increments/decrements of 100 m.

FFV[]

Both the commander and gunner have the ability to utilise FFV when turned out.

Trivia[]

  • The Fla-SFL 23-4V1 and ZSU-23-4V1 were originally the same vehicle prior to Update 1.4. The patch subsequently gave it a unique designation while still retaining the same properties as before (the change is purely cosmetic).[1]
  • Additional customisation options for the Fla-SFL 23-4V1 were added after the release of Updates 1.3[2] and 1.5[3].

Notes[]

  1. It is technically possible to slingload the Fla-SFL 23-4V1 as its model has the necessary memory points for slings to be attached. However, this is only possible if the Fla-SFL 23-4V1's weight has been deliberately reduced to an acceptable threshold by using the setMass scripting command.
