  • Secondary weapon: None
  • Equipment: Grenades (6×)

There are no alternate pieces of equipment to choose from.

Primary[]

  • (1) Prepare to attack
  • (2) Seize the village

Optional[]

N/A

Mandatory[]

  • Armstrong must survive
  • Avoid collateral damage/friendly fire (must not have less than 200 "points" score-wise)
  • Remain within the combat area

Walkthrough[]

Primary 1: Prepare to attack[]

This is a straightforward mission that will introduce you to the basics of infantry combat in Cold War Assault.

You will start off in a UH-60 and have to wait for a few moments until arriving at the LZ. After Sergeant Berghof gives the green-light for the operation to commence, stay in formation with your squad. Go prone the instant you get into contact with the village's defenders.

Primary 2: Seize the village[]

You will be up against a mechanised rifle platoon (twenty eight individual soldiers) and two supporting BMP-1s along with two more T-72 Medium Tanks.

Either Bravo or your team's LAT rifleman will neutralise the BMPs. If both fail to do so for whatever reason, salvage the latter's M72 (assuming he's been killed) and use it to destroy the BMPs yourself. The allied attack helicopter will dispatch the two T-72s without your input. The rest of the mission will then come down to hunting the remainder of the troops.

If you get injured during the initial firefight, allow CPL Fowley or CPL Kozlowski to patch you up. Remember that this is not a timed mission and there will be no reinforcements for the defenders, so eliminate them one-by-one at your own pace (or wait for the rest of the AI squads to do it).

Tips[]

  • Keep in mind that the rest of your squad does not need to be alive to complete the mission. Berghof, Fowley and Kozlowski can be wiped out at no risk to the mission's success (although this shouldn't happen under normal circumstances).
