The Frag Vest M/00 is a flak jacket worn by Danish military forces in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany Creator DLC.
Overview[]
Introduced in 2000 and fielded to Danish infantry deployed on international missions, the Frag Vest M/00 comes in three variants with different storage capacities:
Variant | Weight ("mass") | Storage capacity ("mass") |
---|---|---|
Frag Vest M/00 | 40[CfgWp 1] | 100[CfgWp 2] |
Frag Vest, Machinegunner M/00 | 60[CfgWp 3] | 160[CfgWp 4] |
Frag Vest, Rifleman M/00 | 40[CfgWp 5] | 160[CfgWp 6] |
No matter the variant, the Frag Vest M/00 covers the wearer's diaphragm, abdomen and chest. The vest is rated at Level I protection standards. However, it should be noted that the Frag Vest M/00 is intended to protect the wearer from explosions as opposed to ballistic projectiles thanks to its 90% damage reduction modifier to indirect blasts. As such, it will (barely) allow the wearer to survive being hit by a single 5.45 mm/5.56 mm bullet at point blank range.
7.62 mm rifle and sniper rounds are still able to fatally wound the wearer in one hit at distances below 300 metres. The wearer is only able to survive being struck by such cartridges at ranges beyond ~ 400 metres, and even then, only a single round. Unless the wearer has been healed, a second follow-up round will outright kill the wearer regardless of distance.

Camouflage[]
- Blue: Light blue colour scheme intended for personnel participating in peacekeeping operations.
- M/84: Standard M/84 woodland camouflage scheme.
- Winter: Flat all-white colour scheme.
- Woodland: U.S. Woodland camouflage pattern.
Trivia[]
- The shoulder pads are purely cosmetic and do not contribute to increasing the wearer's resistance to explosives.
- Variants using U.S. Woodland camouflage are the only vests that lack the shoulder pads and do not have a Machinegunner configuration.
- Prior to Update 1.4, the Frag Vest M/00 did not reduce any damage from small arms fire and was also strangely rated at Level III protection standards.
- The patch subsequently reduced its rating to a more appropriate Level I rating but also made the vest (slightly) ballistic-resistant against non-full power cartridges.[1]
