Fuel is a harvestable resource in ArmA: Mobile Ops.

Overview[]

Fuel is one of the two main types of harvestable resources in Mobile Ops. It is required to perform any of the following actions:

  • Hiring units from the Office
  • Acquiring unit upgrades at the Comms Centre
  • Requesting for off-map supports at the Operation Planning structure
  • Replenishing the ranks of infantry squads and/or repairing damaged ground vehicles, aircraft and drones after a battle (singleplayer and multiplayer)
  • Supporting the player's faction in the Faction Wars game mode

With the exception of the Alliance Centre, Office, and Barracks, Fuel is not used in the construction of base buildings and defences. It also cannot be used to upgrade the player's Headquarters.

Harvesting[]

Fuel will automatically generate at Fuel Plants and will continue to accumulate until the Fuel Plant reaches its maximum capacity. The maximum storage capacity depends on the level of the Fuel Plant.

Fuel must be manually collected by the player whenever they are online. It will not be automatically transferred to the player's stockpiles unless they manually harvest it.

Special event production/looting bonuses.

Every 24 hours of server time, the player will receive a daily bonus package that (usually) contains a variable amount of Fuel. Certain special events held will also boost the amount of Fuel generated at Fuel Plants, though these are temporary buffs and will expire at the end of the event.

In the storyline campaign, the player is able to obtain a finite amount of Fuel from Attidan Guerrilla bases. Each mission will always have a fixed amount that does not replenish once the player finishes the mission (or fails it).

Fuel can be obtained by looting it from enemy players in the Global Conflict game mode. It is not required to win a GC match as any looted Fuel will automatically be transferred to the attacking player's stockpiles following the conclusion of the battle. Should the player win their GC match, however, the player can opt to watch an advertisement at the results screen for an extra bonus. Additionally, at the end of each GC season, players will be rewarded with Fuel depending on their ranking, with higher positions on the leaderboard offering greater amounts of Fuel.

It should be noted that Fuel cannot be obtained from training matches conducted against fellow alliance members, nor can it be traded between members of the alliance. Fuel is also unobtainable in Faction Wars as Fuel Plants and Fuel Deposits owned by opposing players cannot be looted in this mode.

Lastly, the player can choose to purchase Fuel directly from the online Shop by exchanging Command Points (CP). There is no limit to how many Fuel packages that a player can purchase, with the only limitation being their willingness to spend real-world currency to buy CP.

The total amount of Fuel that a player is able to stockpile at any given time will depend on the number of Fuel Deposits that they have constructed. If the player has more Fuel than they are able to store, any excess Fuel will be permanently lost if obtained via other means or will be left unharvested at the Fuel Plant.

It is vital that players keep track of their total capacity limit, as they may inadvertently obtain more Fuel than they can store and lose their excess spoils (whether looted or purchased at the Shop).

    Fuel Escapade
    • Loot up to 100,000,000 units of Fuel from other players in Global Conflict.
    • Fuel obtained in the storyline campaign does not contribute to this achievement's counter.
    • This also cannot be earned in Faction Wars or training matches conducted against yourself/alliance members since these modes do not allow you to loot Fuel from other players.

    Lord of the Oilfield
    • Spend up to 10,000,000 units of Fuel over the course of your gameplay.
    • This counter accumulates regardless of whether you spend it on hiring/replenishing/upgrading units or donating it to your chosen faction in the Faction Wars game mode.

    Oil Man
    • You have to donate a total of 1,000,000 units of Fuel to your chosen faction in the Faction Wars game mode.
    • This does not have to accomplished in a single season. Donations offered to either faction will count towards the achievement's progress over consecutive or non-consecutive seasons that you take part in.

    Pump It
    • Must generate up to 1,000,000 units of Fuel over the course of your gameplay at one or more Fuel Plants.
    • The counter will only accumulate if your Fuel Plants are not at maximum capacity since unharvested Fuel will prevent the Fuel Plant(s) from generating any further until they are gathered.
