The G53A2 is a 5.56 mm assault rifle used exclusively by revolutionaries in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany Creator DLC.
Overview[]
- This section is a stub. You can help Armed Assault Wiki by expanding it.
The G53A2 is a selective-fire, delayed blowback-operated assault rifle that is chambered for the 5.56×45 mm cartridge. It is an "ultra compact" version of the G33, essentially an assault rifle that has been reduced to the size of an SG5 submachine gun.
It feeds from the G33's 30-round box magazines by default but is also capable of loading its 40- and 60-round magazines. The G53A2 has a muzzle velocity of ~ 750.5 m/s and is able to attain a fire rate of up to 750 rounds per minute.
G53A2s allow for a 5.56 mm sound suppressor to be attached onto the muzzle. It also allows for a mixture of optical sights, IR/visible laser pointers, and flashlights to be fitted onto the receiver using a claw mount. However, the ability to mount such accessories is mutually exclusive; a laser pointer/flashlight cannot be fitted onto the G53A2 at the same time with an optic.
Variants[]
G53A3[]

The G53A3 is simply a modified variant that features a retractable stock in lieu of the fixed stock on G53A2s. It is not utilised by any of the factions.
The main advantage of this change is that the G53A3 is lighter by ~ 10%, and that it inflicts a reduced inertia penalty onto the user in close quarters. Other than these two changes, the G53A3 remains functionally identical to the baseline G53A2.
Mp M/85[]

The Mp M/85 is the Danish military's designation for the G53A3. It is exclusively wielded by post-Cold War Danish special operations units.
It remains mostly identical to the latter save for a few cosmetic changes like the addition of a light bearing handguard, which has a nub at the front that can be fitted with a compact laser pointer or flashlight module. This allows the user to mount both an optical sight and a laser pointer or flashlight at the same time.
However, aside from this change the Mp M/85 remains statistically identical to the G53A3 in every way.
Ironsights[]

If the G53A2 is fitted with an optical sight that can be zeroed beyond 400 metres, it will allow for an absolute maximum zeroing of 1,000 metres.

If the G53A3 is fitted with an optical sight that can be zeroed beyond 400 metres, it will allow for an absolute maximum zeroing of 1,000 metres.

If the Mp M/85 is fitted with an optical sight that can be zeroed beyond 400 metres, it will allow for an absolute maximum zeroing of 1,000 metres.

The G53A2 and its two derivatives are capable of loading up to six types of magazines. They are fully interchangeable with its parent family of weapons (the G33):
5.56 mm 30Rnd G33 Ball-T DM21 Black Mag[]

Standard 30-round box magazine loaded with 5.56 mm ball ammunition. It has a weight of 6.66667 "mass" units.
None of the rounds fired will emit visible tracers.
5.56 mm 30Rnd G33 Ball-T DM21 Black Mag[]

Tracer magazine. All thirty rounds of the magazine comprise of visible tracers.
It weighs the same as the standard-issue 30-rounder magazines.
5.56 mm 40Rnd G33 Ball DM11 Black Mag[]

Extended capacity 40-round magazine. It is heavier and weighs 8.88889 "mass" units instead.
As with the default 30-rounders, no rounds contained within the magazine will emit visible tracers.
5.56 mm 40Rnd G33 Ball-T DM21 Black Mag[]

Alternate 40-rounder magazine loaded exclusively with visible tracer rounds.
All forty rounds of the magazine will comprise of visible tracers. It weighs the same as the non-tracer 40-round magazines.
5.56 mm 60Rnd G33 Ball DM11 Black Mag[]

A unique 60-round magazine that consists of two 30-rounder magazines connected together with a magazine coupler. In spite of its appearance, no reloading will be necessary even after thirty rounds are expended (the two magazines are considered to be a single object).
It is the heaviest variant and weighs 13.3333 "mass" units. None the rounds fired will emit visible tracers.
5.56 mm 60Rnd G33 Ball-T DM21 Black Mag[]

60-round tracer magazine.
Aside from being loaded exclusively with visible tracer rounds, it is statistically identical to the stock 60-rounder magazines.
Trivia[]
- The G53A2 and its derivatives were not originally included as part of Global Mobilization's pool of firearms and were only included after the release of Update 1.5.[1]
- The stock on the G53A3 and the Mp M/85 will automatically collapse itself when it is not equipped.
