The GA Carrier GL Rig is a ballistic/explosive-resistant worn by both AAF troopers and in limited numbers with CTRG operatives in ArmA 3.
Overview[]
The GA Carrier GL Rig is a heavier version of the AAF's GA Carrier Rig but with additional shoulder, neck and pelvic addon armour attached. It has a weight of 80 "mass" and enables the wearer to carry up to 120 "mass" units worth of ammunition/equipment.
Primarily worn by grenadiers, team leaders, field officers and certain specialist troopers/operatives, the GA Carrier GL Rig serves as a direct counterpart to NATO's Carrier GL Rig. Both are rated identically at Level IV standards.
Compared to its NATO counterpart, the GA Carrier GL Rig is lighter by 20 "mass" but trades off the same amount in storage capacity (120 versus the former's 140). However, base armour values for both its shoulder and neck protectors are inferior, retaining only half the armour of NATO's Carrier GL Rig (8 versus the latter's 16).
The chest/diaphragm plates face the same problems as the Carrier GL Rig - namely that it only reduces 40% of incoming damage from ballistic projectiles. While the extra toughness of the GA Carrier GL Rig's plates ensures the wearer's safety from small explosions/grenade rounds, it will not stop much more than a single 7.62 mm round to the chest at any range.

Camouflage[]
- Digital: Digitised semi-fractal camouflage pattern with some dark green-coloured pouches. Standard scheme applied to AAF GA Carrier GL Rigs.
- Olive: Flat olive green colour scheme with pale green shoulder pads. Used by CTRG Group 15 operatives.
Trivia[]
- Prior to the Marksmen DLC's release[1], the GA Carrier GL Rig simply reused the GA Carrier Rig's model without any visible differences between the two vests.
- Despite clearly being the "low-tech" counterpart to NATO's Carrier GL Rig, Olive-coloured GA Carrier GL Rigs are strangely shown being worn by NATO's covert special operations units.
- A pouchless (and retextured/modified mesh) version of the vest is reused as a basis for IDAP's EOD Vest in the Laws of War DLC.
