The GA Carrier Lite is a ballistic-resistant vest worn by AAF troopers, Altian government Loyalists and their FIA successors in ArmA 3.
Overview[]
Standard-issue body armour worn by the majority of the AAF's personnel, the GA Carrier Lite is an inexpensive off-the-shelf plate carrier vest. It has a weight of 60 "mass" units[CfgWp 1] and provides enough storage space for up to 120 units worth of ammunition/items.[CfgWp 2]
It is rated at Level III protection standards and covers the wearer's chest, diaphragm and abdomen. It will allow the user to survive at most a single hit from a 7.62 mm DMR bullet at point blank range. At distances of approximately ~ 500 metres or greater, the wearer can withstand up to ~ 4-5 direct hits to the chest from 5.56 mm rifle rounds.
The GA Carrier Lite is essentially a slightly altered version of NATO's Carrier Lite vest. Protection-wise, they are virtually identical, with the main differences being that the GA Carrier Lite weighs 20 units less than NATO's Carrier Lite but in exchange trades 20 units' worth of storage capacity (120 versus 140).
Just like NATO's Carrier Lite, the GA Carrier Lite offers no protection to the wearer's pelvis and limbs. As such, grenade blasts at point blank range will be lethal unless the wearer is not standing within the grenade's kill zone.

Trivia[]
- The GA Carrier Lite was not present in the Alpha and would only be added into the game once it entered full release with the Beta's conclusion.[1]
- Several visual tweaks were made to the GA Carrier Lite's model after the release of Game Update 1.40. Changes to the vest's geometry reduced clipping issues when it was worn on non-AAF uniforms (e.g. NATO's Combat Fatigues).[2]
