The GLX is a 40 mm grenade launcher used exclusively by CTRG operatives in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Western Sahara DLC.

Overview[]

This section is a stub. You can help Armed Assault Wiki by expanding it.

The GLX is a single-shot, manually-operated grenade launcher that fires low velocity 40 mm grenades.

It is capable of loading a variety of lethal and non-lethal 40 mm grenade rounds, ranging from the standard high-explosive (HE) to pellets, less-than-lethal (LTL) flares, and non-lethal smoke shells. The GLX is not limited to only loading individual grenade rounds; it is also able to load the 3-round grenade "magazines" utilised by the MX assault rifle's 3GL grenade launcher.

The GLX has a top rail that supports optical sights which can be used in lieu of the ladder sight, as well as a side rail for mounting flashlights or laser pointers. Without optics attached, the GLX's ladder sight can have its zeroing adjusted to a maximum of 400 metres.

Ironsights[]

Arma3-wsglx-ironsight-overview

The GLX's ladder sight can have its zeroing manually adjusted starting at a minimum of 50 metres up to a maximum of 400 metres (50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400). By default, the GLX is set to a zeroing of 50 metres. The ladder's markings are not illuminated.

If an optical sight with a zeroing limit greater than 400 metres is attached onto the top rail (e.g. Nightstalker), the GLX will only permit an absolute maximum zeroing of 1,000 metres.

Camouflage[]

  • Black: Standard all-black colour scheme.
  • Camo: Semi-fractal pattern based on the AAF's Digital camouflage.
  • Green Hex: Tropical Hexacam camouflage pattern applied over a black finish.
  • Hex: Arid Hexacam camouflage pattern applied over a black finish.
  • Snake: Snakeskin-style spraypaint pattern applied over a black finish.
  • Tan: Flat tan colour scheme.

Trivia[]

  • The GLX appears to be based on the standalone configuration of the "GLX160" grenade launcher designed by Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta S.p.A. (Beretta).[1]
  • The GLX was not originally included as part of Western Sahara's launch assets. It was only added after the release of Update 1.1.[2][3]
  • Prior to the Update 1.1.1 hotfix, the GLX's sights were misaligned and would always cause the grenade to land slightly off to the right of the ladder no matter the distance.[4]
