"Gear" refers to wearable vests used by several BLUFOR and REDFOR factions in ArmA 3. They were added with the release of the Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany Creator DLC.

Overview[]

"Gear" load bearing vests are used by West German, Danish, and East German military forces.

Storage capacity, pouch layout, and the inclusion of various accessories such as satchel bags or holsters depends on the faction and configuration. However, all "Gear" vests do not offer protection to the wearer against damage from ballistic projectiles or explosions:

Variants[]

Police[]

The Police variant is only utilised by West German law enforcement officers.

It has a holster and a small pouch for storing a few items. Outwardly, it is similar in appearance to the Military Police variant and is coloured in a white colour scheme but lacks the brassard.

Trivia[]

  • The SMG sub-variants of the West German Gear vests (both regular and Leader) were not originally selectable in the Virtual Arsenal and were only made accessible in Update 1.4.[1]
