The Gendarmerie Uniform is an outfit worn by Tanoan Gendarmerie officers in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Apex DLC.
Overview[]
Duty uniform worn by all Gendarmerie officers, it consists of a poloshirt with rolled-up sleeves and a pair of commercial military-style combat pants. The uniform has a weight of 40 "mass" units[CfgWp 1] and provides enough storage space for 40 units worth of ammunition/items.[CfgWp 2]
Gendarmerie Uniforms do not provide any ballistic protection or resistance to explosives.
Variants[]
Commander[]
This variant is exclusively issued to senior Gendarmerie commanders. It features a sweater, leather gloves and pair of rugged pants rather than combat pants.
Statistically, the sole difference with the Commander uniform is that it stores only 30 "mass" compared to regular uniforms.[CfgWp 4] As compensation, it is slightly lighter to wear by 10 "mass" units.[CfgWp 3]
Camouflage[]
Trivia[]
- The regular patrol officer uniform is simply a slightly modified (and retextured) version of Corporal Ben Kerry's outfit in the campaign's second episode. The Commander variant on the other hand is based on the FIA's Guerilla Apparel uniform.
- However, because both uniforms use their own standalone models[1][2] (just like the Paramedic Outfit from the Laws of War DLC), they are not considered to be free assets and require ownership of the Apex expansion in order to wear.[3]
- Before the release of Game Update 1.90, the Commander variant would not show shoulder insignias even if the unit was assigned one through the Virtual Arsenal or in the editor.[4]
