Good Morning T-stan is the second mission of ArmA 2's Operation Arrowhead campaign.
Overview[]
The players control four characters from the U.S. Army's Task Force Knight. The first phase of the invasion of Takistan has proceeded smoothly and the country's coastal cities are now under NATO control.
However, Takistani forces have retreated into the central highlands and their leader has continued to evade capture. To spearhead the second phase of the operation, TF Knight must establish a bridgehead by capturing the airstrip at Loy Manara.

Objectives[]
Primary[]
- (1) Secure LZ
- (2) Capture Loy Manara
- (3) Capture Jaza
Optional[]
N/A
Mandatory[]
- Drake must survive (singleplayer only)
- If respawning is disabled, Drake must survive (co-op only)
- At least four members of the allied Hitman squad must survive
- Avoid collateral damage/friendly fire
- You must not take more than 45 minutes to complete the mission
Walkthrough[]
Primary 1: Secure LZ[]
As Drake, you will start off inside a UH-60 whilst Graves begins on an MH-6. Pierce will be controlling the Apache gunship and finally, Herrera commands a Bradley IFV.

LEGEND
Red: Counterattack force spawn points
Pink: Counterattack force routes
Green: Takistani Army/militiamen positions
Orange: Anti-aircraft battery
Teal: Friendly warlord location
Violet: Friendly guerilla squad (only if triggered)
For now, everyone should focus on securing the immediate area around the Landing Zone:
- Drake:
- After landing, go prone and return fire upon the enemies near the hangars and control tower.
- There are a total of fourteen infantry on the northern side and five more on the southern end (along with a BMP). You may encounter less than the intended fourteen as several of the soldiers only have a 49% chance of randomly spawning per playthrough.
- Graves:
- Herrera:
- Your initial threats will consist of a lone RPG-wielding soldier and a tank in a hull down position behind the barricades at 072-010, not far from your starting location.
- Your AI allies should have no difficulty destroying it, so leave it to them to tackle and save your TOW missiles for later. Continue along the road until you reach the airstrip. Mop up any remaining stragglers that weren't dealt with by Drake or Pierce.
- Remember to let your platoon's tanks lead the way once you arrive at Loy Manara. Their tanks can survive a lot of punishment in stark contrast to your IFV.
- Pierce:
- Prioritise destroying ground vehicles but remain at a high enough altitude to avoid taking damage from small arms fire. Pepper enemy soldiers with your 30 mm chain gun and use 70 mm rockets against any clumps of infantry. Pay attention to your gunner/co-pilot though; you don't want to "accidentally" target your allies too.
- Watch out for the anti-air battery at 078-022. If whoever controlling Graves hasn't destroyed it already then spam your next target lock-on key (Default hotkey: Tab) and lob a Hellfire missile at it straight away before it manages to zero in on you.
A counterattacking force will arrive shortly after you capture the primary LZ (or even during the first attack if you took long enough). The enemy units comprise of two T-55 tanks and one M113 from the east, two armed offroads from the north-east and finally, two more offroads coming in via the northern pass.
Pierce and Herrera players should have no difficulty tackling the vehicles while Graves can ambush the two offroads coming in from the pass to the north (they don't have ballistic-resistant rooftops). As for Drake, stay behind at the airstrip and wait for the others to finish off the counterattackers.
Primary 2: Capture Loy Manara[]
Sweep through the village of Loy Manara (north-east of the airstrip) to eliminate the remaining pro-government militias:
- Drake:
- Drake should make contact with the anti-government resistance warlord at grid coordinates 083-022. He'll be standing in the middle of the walled mud house so be careful not to accidentally shoot him.
- Rejoin the others once you've arranged a deal with the warlord.
- Graves/Herrera/Pierce:
- Loy Manara has a total of twelve enemies (24%-41% chance of two additional militiamen spawning), a static heavy machine gun, and an armed scout car protecting it. Watch out for the sniper at the tower.
Primary 3: Capture Jaza[]
Jaza has fourteen militias alongside another armed truck defending it. However unlike Loy Manara, it's heavily fortified with static HMGs and even a 30 mm automatic grenade launcher facing toward the east.
Fortunately, if Drake met with the guerilla warlord then his fighters will assist you for the attack. His men will approach the village from the east, so Herrera/Pierce should focus their fire elsewhere. Do not forget that pro-government militiamen wear camouflaged jackets and robes as opposed to anti-government guerillas who wear clothes with dull, flat colours or patterns.
Once all hostiles are eliminated, the mission will end in victory.
Tips[]
- Be careful to avoid shooting any of the fighters under the command of the local guerilla warlord, Khaled. Enlisting his aid will help you in another mission later down the line.
- For the player controlling Drake (or in single player), swapping the starting Mk16 EGLM for the M240 may be a better decision as it has greater reach compared to the latter's 5.56 mm round.
- If you take too long, a reinforcement BRDM loaded with a team of AT soldiers may eventually arrive from the north. Odds are you'll be done with the mission long before they arrive though, so don't worry too much about them and take your time clearing out the villages.
Trivia[]
- The mission's title is seemingly a reference to "Good Morning, Vietnam", an American war/comedic drama film produced in 1987.
- The briefing strangely refers to Herrera's IFV as an "M3 Bradley" rather than its actual designation of M2A3. The Operation Arrowhead expansion pack does not include the "M3 Cavalry Fighting Vehicle" or any of its sub-variants as drivable vehicles.
- The A-10 that flies past Drake and Herrera's starting location from the south doesn't actually provide fire support. It will eventually reach a waypoint in the far north (south of Rasman) whereupon it will continue looping in circle.
- This also applies to the C-130 cargo plane that comes in from the west. Its assigned waypoint terminates in the far east and will continue circling around until the mission ends.
