The Granit is a ballistic-resistant uniform worn by Russian Spetsnaz operatives in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Contact DLC.
Overview[]
Adopted by the Russian military's elite Spetsnaz units, the Granit is an armoured mountain suit designed specifically for use in the cold and remote regions of Livonia. It weighs a "mass" of 40 and provides enough storage space for only 40 units of ammunition/items.
Just like its modernised Chinese/Iranian-made counterpart, the Granit is unique for being ballistic-resistant and is rated at Level II protection standards. The wearer's legs, arms, chest, abdomen, diaphragm, pelvis, hands and neck are all covered by the suit's "armour". It will allow the wearer to survive a point blank hit from a 7.62 mm bullet so as long as they are struck in the torso.

Camouflage[]
- B-Type: Standard two-tone olive green/khaki colour scheme.
- B-Type (Weathered): Olive green/khaki colour scheme but with a heavily worn-out fabric, resulting in the suit taking on a brownish tone.
- T-Type: Taiga-themed Hexacam camouflage pattern mixed with sage green parts.
Trivia[]
- The in-game uniforms are based on real-world "Gorka" mountain suits still in use by some Russian security forces.
- While ballistic-resistant suits similar to the Gorka do exist in real-life, none are actually utilised in an official capacity.[1]
- In addition, the "Granit" in reality is an armour plate and not a wearable suit. Real Granits form one part of the entire "6B43" armour system and are rated at GOST 6A protection standards (in conjunction with GOST 2A soft armour).[2]
- Granit suits strangely retain protective qualities on par with CSAT Fatigues despite visibly lacking undersuit armour addons.
