The Helmet APH6 is a ballistic-resistant helmet used by MACV-SOG and ARVN fighter jet pilots in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the S.O.G. Prairie Fire Creator DLC.
Overview[]
The Helmet APH6 is a dual-visor flight helmet issued primarily to fighter jet pilots. APH6s are intended to be worn alongside the MS-220001 oxygen mask.
It is available in four dedicated schemes specifically tailored for individual units from each branch of the U.S. military:
- U.S. Air Force's Wolf Pack tactical fighter squadron
- U.S. Marine Corps' VMA-121 fighter attack squadron
- U.S. Navy's Sundowners and VA-196 naval fighter squadrons
A generic plain white colour scheme is also available and is used mainly by pilots of the RVNAF.
APH6s are designed primarily to protect the wearer from explosive damage. As a result, they will not stop rifle calibre and most pistol/SMG bullets from outright killing the wearer. However, it is still possible to survive being hit by a single low velocity 7.62 mm pistol bullet at non-point blank distances.
All APH6s have a separate variant that has the visor lowered to shield the wearer's eyes. However, regardless of style or whether its visor is lowered/raised, all APH6s share the same weight of 10 "mass" units.
