NOTE: This article is about the U.S. military's M1 helmet in CSLA Iron Curtain. For its BLUFOR/INDFOR counterpart in S.O.G. Prairie Fire, see Helmet M1 (S.O.G.).

The Helmet M1 is a protective helmet in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the CSLA Iron Curtain Creator DLC.

Overview[]

A steel helmet dating back to the Second World War, the M1 formerly served as the standard-issue combat helmet of the U.S. Armed Forces throughout the Cold War. They have since been replaced by the newer Personnel Armor System for Ground Troops (PASGT) helmet.

The M1 is not a ballistic-resistant helmet but will offer a modicum of protection against indirect blasts. However, if the wearer is struck by a 9 mm pistol round at distances beyond 300 metres and if the bullet has lost most of its velocity, they can potentially survive a single non-point blank hit. Nonetheless, their chances of survival are still low at best due to the helmet's minimal armour value.

It should be noted that the M1 is completely weightless and will not consume any of the wearer's stamina if worn.

Hitpoints[]

Body part Base armour value Damage reduction modifier (vs. ballistic) Damage reduction modifier (vs. explosions)
Head 3 75% 75%

Camouflage[]

  • Olive: Flat olive-green colour scheme.
  • Woodland: U.S. woodland pattern on a camouflage cover.
  • Lizard: Forest camouflage pattern.

Trivia[]

  • The Lizard camouflage variant was not originally available upon release and was only added after Update 1.1.[1]
  • Prior to Update 1.1, the Helmet M1 was classified as a Level III protective helmet with a base armour value of 10 and a damage reduction modifier of 70%. The patch significantly reduced its ballistic-resistant attributes and omitted its Level III classification.[1]
    • For unknown reasons, the patch also removed its "mass" value, making the Helmet M1 a weightless piece of headgear that is ironically superior to the Helmet vz. 53 since the latter does impose a stamina burden when worn (both retain the same armour value of 3 and damage reduction modifier of 75%).
