Armed Assault Wiki

The Helmet M35/53 is a ballistic-resistant helmet used by West German borderguards, revolutionaries, and civilian firefighters in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany Creator DLC.

Overview[]

Worn by officers of the West German Bundesgrenzschutz (BGS), M35/53s are merely repurposed steel helmets that date back to the Second World War. Some civil defence units and firefighters also choose to use M35/53s but painted in bright colours to distinguish them clearly in the distance. M35/53s have even fallen into the hands of armed revolutionary groups.

Aside from shape, there are virtually no differences between it and the relatively newer M62. They feature an optional sub-variant with netting wrapped on. All M35/53s have a weight of 10 "mass" units.[CfgWp 1]

Camouflage[]

  • Black: Standard all-black colour scheme. Optionally features a sub-variant with netting applied.
  • Tan: Bright tan colour scheme.

Trivia[]

  • A few visual adjustments were made to the Helmet M35/53 after Update 1.0.3153's release. The changes mainly focused on lowering the helmet so that would fit better onto the wearer's head. The model's LODs (Level of Detail) were also tweaked so that the mesh is no longer visible at long distances on M35/53s with no netting meshes.[1]
  • The Helmet M35/53 was initially only used by West German BGS units and civilians. The Revolutionaries faction would later be assigned as users of the helmet after Update 1.5's release[2] (coinciding with the faction's introduction[3]).
