The Helmet M62 is a ballistic-resistant helmet used by conventional West German forces in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany Creator DLC.

Overview[]

A direct copy of an older U.S.-made steel helmet design, the M62 replaced the M35/53 in frontline service and features a liner fixed to a plastic cradle secured by a single bolt. Depending on the camouflage scheme, some may feature either a camouflage cover or netting applied to them.

All variants of the Helmet M62 share the same weight of 10 "mass" units.[CfgWp 1]

Camouflage[]

  • Blue:* Light blue colour scheme intended for use on peacekeeping missions.
  • Olive: Standard olive green colour scheme. Features an optional netting.
  • Winter:* Scratched white paint camouflage scheme. Has an alternate variant which uses white tape strips to serve as improvised cold weather camouflage.
  • Woodland:* U.S. Woodland camouflage pattern.

(*) Features a camouflage cover.

Trivia[]

  • The Woodland camouflage scheme was not originally available at launch and was only added in Update 1.2.[1]
  • The M62's model proportions were slightly adjusted to be wider after Update 1.4's release.[2]

    Hidden Flecktarn M62 variant.

Curiously, there is a unique variant (Classname: gm_ge_headgear_m62_cover_flk) hidden within the DLC's configuration files that uses the 1990s-era Flecktarn pattern.
    • It is fully implemented and has its own config entry along with a dedicated texture.[3][4]
    • It is only hidden from view in the Virtual Arsenal. Through the use of scripting commands or a custom addon, the helmet can be equipped in-game without any issues.
