Katalaki (Altian: Καταλάκι) is a settlement located on the island of Altis in the Republic of Altis and Stratis.
Overview[]
Katalaki is a small village located on the outskirts of Neochori. The "camps" scattered along the village's beach are mostly home to refugees and squatters who occupy the improvised dwellings.[1]
History[]
On the evening of August 8th, 2035[2], Katalaki would be briefly occupied by U.S.-led NATO forces after their counterinvasion of the Republic of Altis and Stratis began with airstrikes all along western Altis.[3][4] However, the invasion force initially failed to capture the main airport as it was being defended by a joint force of Iranian-led CSAT peacekeepers and the AAF. They retreated back to their defensive lines at Neochori, biding their time to prepare for a second assault against the airport.[5]
U.S.-led NATO troops scramble to retake the defensive line.
The next day on August 9th[2], NATO troops prepared for the next phase of their operation[5], but CSAT forces managed to strike a blow first later in the evening.[6]
Special operations teams were inserted via boats at the beaches of Katalaki.[7][8] They were tasked with sabotaging helicopters at the Altis Aero Club Airfield to the south[9], as well as destroying NATO anti-air batteries at nearby installations.[10] Several American soldiers guarding Katalaki were also killed by the SOF teams as they cut their way through the defensive line.[11]

Pier[]
A concrete pier extends out of the beach into the Katalaki Bay. It is deep enough to support recreational vessels.
Petrol station[]
The Altis-based Fuel company operates a service station at grid 118-141. However, it is not technically considered to be a part of the settlement since it resides along the north-eastern road that links Katalaki with Neochori.

- Katalaki's real-world counterpart on the island of Lemnos, Greece, is the village of Pedino.
