« | In support of their mobility, Russian Spetsnaz often don the Kipchak lightweight chest rig. In addition to magazine and utility pouches, one variant sports a longer-range tactical radio. A cross-drawn chest holster is fastened to the rig for sidearms. Field Manual[1]

The Kipchak is a vest worn by Russian Spetnsaz operatives in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Contact DLC.
Overview[]
Favoured by Russian Spetsnaz operatives for its light weight and modular setup, the Kipchak vest is a multipurpose harness suited for long distance patrols and reconnaissance missions behind enemy lines.
It has a weight of 30 "mass" units[CfgWp 1] and can store up to 160 units worth of ammunition/items.[CfgWp 2] Like the LBV Harness worn by their CSAT allies, the Kipchak does not have any plate inserts attached and provides absolutely no protection to either gunfire or explosives.
Variants[]
Tactical Radio[]
Identical to regular Kipchaks but contains extra straps/covers for the radio pouch.
Storage-wise, it has the same amount of "mass" capacity as regular Kipchak vests (160)[CfgWp 4] and also weighs the same (30).[CfgWp 3]

Trivia[]
- Despite being a Russian vest, in-game Kipchaks ironically appear to be modelled after the "PLCE" chest rig designed for use by the British military.
- Only the strapped radios are actually based on real Russian-made equipment, specifically the "R-187-P1E" handheld radio designed by Angstrem, a Russian joint-stock company. The regular Kipchak has the basic variant attached while the Tactical Radio vest uses the ruggedised version with a bulkier frame.[2]
- Prior to Game Update 2.00, the Kipchak's model had visible clipping issues when it was worn alongside a Full Ghillie. The model's proportions were slightly adjusted after the patch's release to address this.[3]
