Armed Assault Wiki

The Kitbag is a BLUFOR/INDFOR backpack in ArmA 3.

Overview[]

A moderately-sized backpack, the Kitbag has a maximum storage capacity of 280 "mass"[CfgVh 2] and weighs 50 units[CfgVh 1] when it is unloaded.

The Kitbag can store much more than the Assault Pack, Tactical Backpack and Field Pack. Although it cannot store as many items as the Carryall, the Kitbag is slightly lighter and only has a maximum capacity 40 less "mass" units than the latter. This essentially makes it the most stamina-efficient backpack to haul.

On the other hand, it is suitable as an alternative for the Tactical Backpack if the storage space of the heavier rucks is not required but more space is needed than the Tactical Backpack can provide.

Trivia[]

  • The in-game Kitbag appears to be modelled after early models of Triple Aught Design's "FAST Pack" backpack.[1]
  • At launch, the Kitbag was significantly lighter (weighing only 25 "mass" units) but had a reduced storage capacity of only 200 "mass" units. This was changed after Game Update 1.04's release with the addition of the campaign's first episode, which buffed its storage capacity but also doubled its unloaded weight.[2]
  • The textures for the "Coyote" and "Sage" variants initially used an extremely bright texture that did not actually match the colours they were named after. The release of Game Update 1.86 refactored their appearances, with the old texture for the Coyote variant becoming the new (separate) Tan variant.[3]
The information below details unused, pre-release or removed content.
  • Arma3-backpack-kitbag-05
There are a number of unused textures for the Kitbag, ranging from a Black version[4] to a uniquely camouflaged one adorned in the AAF's Digital pattern.[5]
    • However, the pattern used on this variant is notably different in that the swatch used is far brighter than the default pattern used on the AAF's version of the Assault Pack.
    • This is because the pattern on this Kitbag is based on an earlier rendition of the AAF's Digital camouflage pattern, which was intended for use by the (now defunct) Raven Security[6] PMC faction. Raven Security was a Russian private military company that was intended to serve as an REDFOR sub-faction[7] before ArmA 3's setting was refactored in 2012.
