The LP1 is a 26.5 mm flare gun used by East German military forces and in limited numbers with Polish special operations units in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany Creator DLC.
Overview[]
The LP1 is a smoothbore flare gun designed to load 26.5 mm flare/smoke rounds.
It has a muzzle velocity of 240 m/s and can attain a fire rate of up to 240 rounds per minute. The LP1 cannot be fitted with any optical sights or muzzle attachments.
Carried by squad and platoon leaders, the LP1 is essentially the East German counterpart of the P2A1. When loaded with flare rounds, the LP-1 provides a quick source of illumination at night or under poor lighting conditions. With smoke rounds, the user can provide instant concealment at any location from afar without having to manually toss a smoke grenade.
Ironsights[]

The LP1 does not provide the user with a pair of ironsights. It cannot be manually zeroed.
Ammunition[]
NOTE: Although not explicitly designed to do so, the LP1 can share its 26.5 mm round types with the West German P2A1 (and vice versa).
Composition | Duration (seconds) | Initial velocity (m/s) | No. of flares |
---|---|---|---|
Smoke | 60 | 180 | N/A |
Flare (Single) | 20 | 160 | 1 |
Flare (Multi) | 20 | 180 | 4 |
The LP1 can be loaded with twenty types of flare and smoke shells. All only contain a single round to fire, though they can disperse either individual or 4-star "clusters" depending on the variant loaded.
No matter the type, they all weigh an identical "mass" of 8 units each:
Flare[]
Signalling/illumination flare round. Available in either white (DM15), red (DM13), green (DM11) or yellow (DM10) colour varieties. Multi-star flare rounds are designated as DM25 (white), DM23 (red), DM21 (green) and DM20 (yellow).
There are also two other unique types of flare rounds; a parachute flare variant labelled as the DM16 (coloured exclusively in yellow) and an NBC hazard warning flare designated as the DM47.
Smoke[]
Concealment/marking smoke round. Available in either yellow (DM19), orange (DM22) or purple (DM24) colour varieties.
Trivia[]
- At release, only East German forces utilised the LP1. Following Update 1.5's release[1], certain Polish SOF units were equipped with the LP1 in lieu of the default wz. 78.
