NOTE: This article is about the baseline LCH worn by NATO forces in ArmA 3. For its MJTF Slick counterpart in the semi-official Expeditionary Forces Creator DLC, see Light Combat Helmet (Expeditionary Forces). |
The Light Combat Helmet is a ballistic-resistant helmet used by specialist/recon NATO forces and in limited numbers with CTRG operatives in ArmA 3.
Overview[]
The Light Combat Helmet is a smaller and more compact version of the regular Combat Helmet donned by conventional NATO forces. It is rated at Level I protection standards and has a weight of 20 "mass" units.[CfgWp 1]
It is one of the lightest helmets to wear while still being able to provide some protection against ballistic projectiles. Unfortunately, there are few benefits to the LCH aside from its low weight since it has minimal armour and is, at least protection-wise, no better than civilian helmets like the Skate Helmet. At non-point blank ranges, the wearer should be able to survive a single hit from a 9 mm round. Hits from intermediate rifle cartridges will not be survivable, however.
