Unnamed Central African country[]
- SPIN-OFF: The following information stems from a spin-off expansion or third party Creator DLC and is considered to be non-canon in the main Armaverse timeline.
SPINOFF INFORMATION |
---|
An unnamed country located in Central Africa. At least two cities are known to exist: Dhargan[48] and Lagados[49]. Other notable locations include the Kheran Dam[50], a fortified mountain base run by a local militia warlord named Djibril Kwembe[51], the (unfinished) Wassara Bridge[52], and an American-owned chemical plant on the outskirts of Dhargan[53]. The government is pro-West, though the ruling party has begun to face opposition from anti-American political parties.[52][53] 201XGeneral elections are due to be held. However, in an attempt to swing voters against the pro-West ruling party, a group of terrorists led by Ibrahim Soltani tried to destroy a chemical plant located on the outskirts of the city of Dhargan.[53] His plans were foiled when a team of U.S. special operations infiltrated the plant and assassinated the terrorist leader. They succeeded in disarming all explosives before his remaining henchmen could detonate them.[54] Sometime later, the U.S. government agreed to supply the military with a special mortar system that could be used to destroy an insurgent holdout in the mountains.[52] However, the convoy transporting the mortar system was ambushed by the insurgents when it attempted to cross the Wassara Bridge.[55] It was briefly captured, and the insurgents threatened to destroy the Kheran Dam with it if their imprisoned comrades were not freed.[50] The insurgents were stopped when a fireteam of U.S. special operations infiltrated the dam and disabled the beacon that the insurgents were using to guide the mortar.[56][57] Government forces subsequently hunted down the remaining insurgents after the dam was secured by the American operatives. This was followed up by a drone strike that blew up the mortar system before the surviving insurgents could inflict any further harm to the dam.[58] |
Trivia[]
- The Czechs beating the British at air hockey is an easter egg reference (and jab) at a cease-and-desist attempt that was made by Codemasters against Bohemia Interactive prior to the release of the Operation Arrowhead expansion pack.[59] Due to Codemasters' ownership over the "Operation Flashpoint" brand and their (unofficial and non-canonical) sequel to the first Operation Flashpoint title, "Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising" (OFP:DR), the C&D claimed that Operation Arrowhead was "too similar" to Codemasters' release of OFP:DR.[60]
- Because Tactics reuses many of its assets from ArmA 2 and its DLCs, the unnamed Central African country in both of its official campaigns strangely depicts various road signs, storefronts, and billboards written in Takistani script.
