The M136 is an 84 mm rocket launcher used by both U.S. military forces and the AFMC in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the CSLA Iron Curtain Creator DLC.
Overview[]
- This section is a stub. You can help Armed Assault Wiki by expanding it.
The M136 is a disposable, recoilless, single-shot rocket launcher.
It is always pre-loaded with a single 84 mm rocket that is fitted with a high-explosive anti-tank (HEAT) warhead. The M136 has an effective firing range of approximately ~ 300 metres and an absolute maximum range of 500 metres.
M136s are not fitted with enhanced vision or magnified optics. They instead feature a simple peep sight which can have its "zeroing" manually adjusted by the user. It begins at a minimum of 100 metres up to a maximum of 500 metres, with adjustments being made in increments/decrements of 50 metres.
Sight[]
The M136's peep sight can be zeroed starting at a minimum of 100 metres up to a maximum of 500 metres (100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450, 500). By default, it is set to use a zeroing of 200 metres.
The front sight's central post represents the point of impact depending on the zeroing. However, it should be noted that against targets located at distances between 450-500 metres, it is not advisable to use zeroing settings beyond 300 metres (specifically 350 m, 400 m, 450 m, and 500 m) as the central post will no longer be precise.
To accurately hit targets located at ranges between 450-500 metres, it is recommended to use a zeroing of 300 metres instead. Alternately, the following methods can be utilised to also land a successful hit:
- Assuming the default zeroing of either 200 or 250 metres is being used and that the target is a tank, ensure the front sight's semi-circular cover conceals the target's hull completely. The tip of the front sight's central post should not be covering any part of the turret.
- If a zeroing of 500 metres is being used, depress the launcher until the tank's turret is partially covered by the rear sight's peep hole.
Munitions[]
The M136 can only load and fire one type of rocket. It is a single-shot weapon which cannot be reloaded and is automatically discarded upon use:
Warhead | Damage type | Base damage value | Penetration depth (mm) |
---|---|---|---|
Primary | High-Explosive | 70 | 2.175 |
Secondary | High-Explosive Anti-Tank | 360 | 375 |
Rockets are always launched with an initial velocity of 285 m/s. After launch, the rocket will rapidly gain thrust over the course of 1 second to attain a maximum in-flight speed of 290 m/s. It has enough fuel for 7 seconds of flight time before the rocket self-destructs.
The primary warhead has a blast radius of just 1 metre, though it is partially capable of piercing up to ~ 2 millimetres of armour plating (direct impact only). The secondary kinetic submunition on the other hand, can penetrate up to 375 millimetres of armour plating and has a spill radius of 0.1 metres.
