« The M1911 is a single-action, semi-automatic .45 caliber handgun with a 7-round magazine capacity. It was issued widely to officers, M79 and M60 operators, medics and vehicle crews during the Vietnam War. North Vietnamese Army and Viet Cong forces also used M1911s captured from the US soldiers.

Overview[]

This section is a stub. You can help Armed Assault Wiki by expanding it.

The M1911 is a recoil operated, locked breech semi-automatic pistol that is chambered to fire the .45 ACP cartridge.

It can only load from 7-round box magazines, and can reach a fire rate of ~ 461 rounds per minute[CfgWp 10][Formula 1] with a muzzle velocity of 280 m/s.[CfgWp 11] M1911s cannot be fitted with optics but the muzzle does support a specially-designed .45 sound suppressor.[CfgWp 12] The user can also simultaneously wield an angle-headed MX-991 flashlight, though it is considered to be a "separate" weapon.[CfgWp 13]

Ironsights[]

Arma3-sogpfm1911-ironsight-overview
The M1911's ironsights cannot be manually zeroed. They are set to a fixed zeroing of 50 metres.[CfgWp 14]

Arma3-sogpfm1911flashlight-ironsight-overview
It is not possible to manually adjust zeroing on M1911s that are being dual-wielded with a flashlight. They utilise a fixed zeroing of 50 metres.[CfgWp 15]

Ammunition[]

Ammo parameter .45 ACP (Ball)
Base damage value 9[CfgAm 1]
Aerodynamic friction -0.001[CfgAm 2]
Muzzle velocity (m/s) 450[CfgMa 2][note 1]
Expected velocity (m/s) 330[CfgAm 3][note 2]
Penetration depth (mm) 6.075[CfgAm 4][Formula 2]
(3.78)[Formula 3]
Deflection angle (degrees) 30°[CfgAm 5]

M1911s can only be loaded with one type of magazine.[CfgWp 16][CfgWp 17] It has a weight of 6[CfgMa 3] "mass" units:

7Rnd. M1911 Mag[]

None of the rounds fired will emit visible tracers.

Trivia[]

  • Aiming with the M1911 was slightly altered in Update 1.1 so that the front sights are better visible in first person.[1]
  • The MX-991 flashlight is not actually held by the user's left hand. It will simply float in midair if they perform an animation that specifically moves their left hand away from the flashlight (e.g. opening the inventory).

Formulae

  1. 60 / reloadTime = 60 / 0.13
  2. Magazine's initSpeed * Ammo's caliber * 15 / 1000 = 450 * 0.9 * 15 / 1000
  3. Weapon's initSpeed * Ammo's caliber * 15 / 1000 = 280 * 0.9 * 15 / 1000

Notes[]

  1. Only applies to the magazine itself. Both of the M1911's weapon classes use their own initSpeed values (280 m/s).
  2. Damage will be reduced if the projectile's velocity drops below this value.
