The MicroSight is a red dot sight used exclusively by MJTF units in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Expeditionary Forces Creator DLC.

Design[]

The MicroSight features a fully enclosed housing and a red-tinted dot reticle. It uses a fixed zeroing of 50 m which cannot be manually adjusted regardless of the platform that it is attached on.[CfgWp 1][CfgWp 2][CfgWp 3][CfgWp 4] The sight's lens is (mostly) thermally opaque and cannot be seen through with infrared optics.

It should be noted that there is no inertia penalty for attaching either variant of the MicroSight onto a weapon.[CfgWp 7][CfgWp 8]

AI[]

NOTE: The information in this section only applies to the AI.

The MicroSight does not have an optical sight classification.[1] If the weapon is configured with AI-only firemodes[2], AI units utilise the same firemodes as human players as well as any firemodes that do not have an optics restriction. However, they will not have access to close (type 0), medium (type 1) or far (type 2) range firemodes.[3]

Variants[]

Camouflage[]

  • Black: Matte black finish.
  • Coyote: Coyote brown colour finish.
  • Khaki: Tropical green colour finish.
  • Sand: Desert sand colour finish.

  4. Anello, A 2024, the scope is based off of the Steiner ICS, it has a rangefinder but no ballistic calculator (we looked into it briefly and deemed it too complex, additionally would have to be compatible with every caliber in the game), the red dot sight is also based off of a steiner design (i dont remember the exact designation), the suppressor is an amalgam of multiple different designs (iirc surefire with a QD system like the one in the old sopmod m4 suppressor), Discord [Social Media], viewed 1 December 2024, <https://discord.com/channels/1052863633962565672/1301629442505834580/1301650746256920596>.
