The Modular Helmet is a ballistic-resistant helmet used by the AAF and in limited numbers with both Altian government Loyalists and FIA guerillas in ArmA 3.
Overview[]
A rugged Kevlar helmet adorned with a camouflaged canvas cover and night vision mount, the Modular Helmet is the standard-issue combat helmet of the Altis Armed Forces. It has a weight of 30 "mass" units.[CfgWp 1]
Rated at Level II protection standards, the Modular Helmet provides the same amount of protection as regular NATO Combat Helmets. Aside from 9 mm pistol rounds, hits to the head from 6.5 mm rifle bullets will only be survivable if the wearer is struck at non-point blank ranges.
In many respects, it isn't that much better than the civilian Basic Helmet despite being classified as mil-spec headgear. At the same time, the Modular Helmet lacks alternate colour options and does not have a sub-variant fitted with a scrim net or any other form of visual camouflage.

Trivia[]
- The in-game Modular Helmet appears to be a loose amalgamation of two real helmet designs: the shell is seemingly inspired by the American-made "PASGT" whilst the leather cup in the chin is from the French-made "SPECTRA F2" helmet.
- At ArmA 3's launch, the Modular Helmet was heavier and had a weight of 40 "mass" units instead. It also provided significantly less protection to the wearer and had a base armour value of only 3. The helmet's weight and protective attributes would eventually be refactored after the release of Game Update 1.10[1] (as part of changes introduced in the Soldier Protection Overhaul[2]).
- The information below details unused, pre-release or removed content.
- Prior to the release of the campaign's third episode, the Modular Helmet was previously designated as the MICH2 instead.
- Two more variants of the Modular Helmet are configured but are not properly usable in-game; "net" (Classname: H_HelmetIA_net[3]) and "camo" (Classname: H_HelmetIA_camo[4]). Because they both lack unique models however, they will only appear as regular Modular Helmets if added to a player through scripting or "collected" in certain campaign scenarios.
