Morton is a settlement located on the main island of Everon in the Everon Socialist Republic.
Overview[]
A village located on the southern coast of Everon, Morton is home to both farmers and fishermen.[1]
Its harbour provides easy access to the Morton Bay. On evenings, the Seagull Point on the south-eastern side of Morton offers a great view of the Southern Gulf and the rest of the coastline from the lookout point. A chapel is located at the centre of the village square and the pub provides respite for both locals and travellers passing through.
The road running through Morton can lead to multiple settlements: at the Y-junction on the western side, heading north will lead to Figari while going further west will lead to Richemont. Lastly, heading due east will instead lead towards Levie.
History[]
At the height of the Malden Islands Crisis, Morton was the site of one of the first major battles in the conflict between U.S.-led NATO forces and rogue Soviet troops commanded by General Aleksei Guba after the latter's invasion and occupation of the island.[2][3][4]
A series of battles over control of the village were again fought when U.S. forces conducted a counterinvasion of Everon a month later.[5] The village would finally be liberated on June 27th, 1985[2], though not before suffering extensive damage in the skirmishes between U.S./Soviet tanks and air assaults.[6][7]

We have to secure Morton, the village over that hill. We'll only be facing infantry armored units, and we have air support, but you still need to stay sharp. Once the enemy's armored units have been destroyed, we'll move in and seize the village. Now, no heroics, OK? This is not an exercise. We're facing a real enemy this time."
