The Ochra is a flak jacket used by both Polish and East German special operations units in ArmA 3. It was added with the release of the Global Mobilization - Cold War Germany Creator DLC.
Overview[]
Issued to special operations units within the Polish People's Army and the NVA, the Ochra is rated at Level II protection standards. Its pouches are meant to be used to carry the AKM assault rifle's 7.62 mm magazines, but up to 100 "mass" units worth of other kinds of ammunition/items can be stored.[CfgWp 2] When unloaded, the vest itself has a weight of 80 "mass" units.[CfgWp 1]
The Ochra is essentially a worse version of the East German BESPA in every way. Not only does it have a smaller storage capacity than the former (the largest of BESPA variants allow for 200 "mass" units worth of items to be carried), but it also weighs more than the majority of the BESPA's configurations and offers very little protection against damage from both indirect explosions and gunfire alike.
Even though the Ochra is rated at Level II protection standards, it is not actually ballistic-resistant since gunfire of any calibre can inflict fatal damage at almost every distance. As such, Ochra vests only offer the bare minimum of protection to the wearer's abdomen, chest, and diaphragm against damage from indirect blasts and nothing more.
